We all yelled out of the van as Manu undertook the boys and Marlon's mum. We were all driving to Jackson bay to do a comp and for some reason summer was joining.
"I don't even wanna look at the rankings right now, I really need big scores this weekend" bodhi says as she applies her makeup.
"Bods your gonna be great, you always kill at Jackson bay" I say
" I just never know what bored to use, I was thinking the 6 but the 6'1 for good the other day too"
"Yeah who could tell? Big decisions" summer pipes up from the back "anyways what's the move with tonight, is there an after Party or something"
" if by after party, you mean Marlons Mum separating the boys and the girls by 7 o'clock and putting us all to bed" I say
"But it's cool we'll just hang out in our room" poppy says
" let me guess give each other mani-peties and talk about boys"
" sorry is that what you usually do at sleepovers?" Bodhi asks
"No, I don't know. Honestly, I don't really do the whole female bonding thing. Girls way too much drama." She laughs
CRINGE
"Um have you spent anytime with ari and Marlon" bodhi says
"Compared to those drama queens we're chill" I say
" you know what chills out drama queens, big arse parties"
" hello supervising adult here" Manu says " there will be no big parties here not on my watch"
" this is the getaway for Summah, but we're here to compete" I say
"So am I"
" no for real" poppy says
" I thought you just told Ari's parents that so you could come" bodhi asks
" I did at first, but then I thought whatever I may as well do it" summer shrugs
" wait you actually entered the competition" manu asks surprised from the front
" what? How hard could it be?"
We all laugh
Poppy had just won her heat and it was me and summer up next.
"No one will blame you if you drop out" I say
" worried I might beat you or something"
" I'm just saying some people might think it's disrespectful, people trained really hard for these comps they're serious"
" says the girl who puts on a full face of make up before getting in the water"
The other girls in the comp walk over to were me and summer were standing waiting for the hooter to go off.
" hey Sheridan"
" can she even surf?" Sheridan says
" you're about to find out"summer replies
" getting in my way, and I will break more than just your surfboard".
We were all out on the surf and summer was way behind all of us getting smashed by waves. I laughed to myself
I go for my first wave that puts me up in first.
Summer cant even manage to catch a wave
I came first and Sheridan came second which means we're both still in the comp.
It was now time for Marlon's and aris heat
"4 finalist in the house to night baby let's go" Manu says as we all cheer
