Yeona wasn’t sure if she was living a fever dream or just really adapting to this chaos called “friends.” Like, who even was she? Because this version of her was actually smiling and laughing — and bickering with Namjoo in that annoyingly fun way that only people who secretly like each other can pull off.

They started their “epic squad day out” at the pet café, and damn, that place was a fluff-lover’s paradise. Samoyeds everywhere. Yeona, who had been this close to just hibernating all day in her bed (like seriously, bed is life), was somehow dragged in by the promise of endless puppies.

Her smug little grin was practically blinding when the fluffballs immediately picked up on her “pet parent energy.” Misha and Jake — the café’s resident pups — stuck to her like glue, as if they smelled the cat hair she probably carried from her own pets.

The café owner, a sweet little old lady with wisdom in her eyes, explained, “Misha’s got a soft spot for cats. She probably smells it on you.” Yeona gave a mental “yep, guilty.” And Jake? “He’s picky with people. Only a select few can earn his cuddles.” Cue surprise when Jake practically melted on Baek Kyung’s lap, who was simultaneously groaning and secretly basking in the attention — fur all over his clothes and zero shame.

“Yo, look at you two, pet parents already!” Dohwa swooned dramatically, wiping a fake tear like it was an Oscar speech. “Treat the girl right, Kyung. I raised you well.”

Baek Kyung just gave Dohwa the “you’re insane” look while continuing to pet the puppy who refused to leave him.

Yeona snorted, “Yeah, right.” She stood up to order drinks, deadpanning, “I’d literally rather commit social suicide than have a mother-in-law like that.”

No one seemed to notice that Baek Kyung wasn’t on her list of “things I’m disgusted by.” A tiny glimmer of hope sparked in his eyes.

Namjoo made a face like he’d just smelled something foul and pretended to gag dramatically. Dan Oh, without missing a beat, flipped him off and plopped down on his side, smirking like she was the queen of savage comebacks. Namjoo choked on his drink, looking like he’d been hit by a freight train of shade.

Once the café drama wrapped, the gang headed to a massive new amusement park. Haru’s disappointed expression when Dan Oh dragged him toward the entrance was priceless — Yeona was pretty sure Haru was one step away from dumping her right there and then.

“Let’s hit that break dance ride!” Dan Oh squealed, eyes sparkling.

Namjoo grimaced, clearly done with their enthusiasm. “That doesn’t look fun.”

“Oh please,” Dohwa teased, “You begged me last year to get your mom to take you on that ride. What happened?”

Namjoo just shushed him, cheeks flushing as if Dohwa had just pulled the ultimate receipt.

Yeona, rolling her eyes but secretly enjoying the banter, marched to the ticket counter. Baek Kyung trailed behind like a lost puppy, eyes fixed on her every move. The rest of the crew exchanged amused glances and followed, their chaotic energy fueling the day.

Namjoo squinted suspiciously, nostrils flaring like a detective on a case. “Something’s going on.”

Dohwa grinned devilishly, “Why don’t we find out?”

Before Namjoo could even process what was happening, Dohwa yanked him toward Yeona’s group.

“DOHWA!!!” Namjoo’s protest echoed down the walkway, but no one was listening.

And alas down he went taking  someone else with him too, but I'm sure we can find that out in the next chapter?
