The moon's glow wrapped around us like a shroud. I was laid bare before him, my attempts at covering my nudity futile in the stark moonlight. His laugh, deep and resonant, broke the tense silence, and then he spoke, his voice soft and seductive, sending shivers across my flesh. "There's no need to hide from me."

As he studied me, his head tilting with a predator's curiosity, he crouched down and seized my hand, his grip firm and unyielding, pulling me up to stand before him. My body trembled under his gaze, just as it had minutes ago, but now the air between us crackled with an intensity that left me breathless.

But now, nothing stood between us apart from the moonlight, casting our shadows onto the forest floor. I wanted to speak, to protest, to cry out, but words failed me. His eyes, deep and full of hunger, held me captive, and I was lost in their depths.

He moved closer, his presence overwhelming. Instinctively, I made to take a step back, but his hand slid around my waist, pulling me closer, his body against mine. I yelped in surprise, the sound echoing softly in the night. A faint gleam in his eyes as he looked down at me sent a clear message of his intentions.

I
WAS
IN
TROUBLE.

In a swift motion, he lifted me, and suddenly I was pressed against a tree, the rough bark imprinting onto my bare back. I arched against it, my head thrown back, as he leaned in close, his breath mingling with mine. A low rumble vibrated in his chest, a sound of pure satisfaction.

His eyes, now black and dilated, bore into mine, and I saw the primal hunger within. Teeth extended, sharp and possessive. As his mouth neared my skin, a realization dawned, a mix of fear and desire.

But before his teeth could graze my flesh, a snarl, fierce and territorial, pierced the night.

He lowered me to the ground, his body still shielding mine, as he turned to face this threat. I was pinned between him and the tree. Dominic and Aiden stood there, their bodies tense, their eyes locked on me.

More wolves appeared, standing just beyond them, their silhouettes ghostly in the moonlight.

"Can I help you?" he asked, his voice a blend of mockery and challenge, as if the very audacity of these wolves daring to confront him amused him.

Dominic stepped forward. His voice was deep and authoritative, rumbling through the forest. "Step away from her and we will leave!"

A humorless laugh broke free from the male's lips. He locked his gaze onto mine, a fierce and possessive glint in his eyes, as a breath of a smile formed on that perfect mouth, he said. "Dominic, you and your pack are free to leave. But she is MINE," he declared, his voice descending into a growl.

My knees nearly buckled at the words. There was something primal that left me reeling. The forest held its breath, and so did I.
