Billy is an outlaw, the most wanted gangster in all of America, when he brings havoc into her life, intertwining their fates. His problems become hers, as she becomes hooked onto his charismatic but mysterious character. This man will be the death o...
"I don't want you close to me" He hisses firmly. "I don't want you in my world". I notice that we are sitting in the same seats now, on the same extremes of the same long wooden table, as last time. Before my eyes flash the images of bodies laying in lumps on the worn wooden planks.
"I don't wish this life upon anybody. I don't want to bring unbroken people into it" His voice is round.
"I feel broken, Billy. I do. I am." I interrupt.
"No, I don't think you are quite understanding what I'm saying. I have seen more corpses than I can count." Then his voice quiets down, and he murmurs the next part softly to me.
"I have taken the lives of so many people that I can't even begin to remember their names." His words swirl their way across the table, and strike right into my heart.
"I have seen life in your eyes, and I am certain that it's still in there, somewhere. You are not broken, not fully." A pause falls between his sentences, as his saturated eyes trace my features gently. "But I can't allow you to starve yourself". The muscles in my face have all relaxed, and I sit emotionless. My body doesn't know how to behave, how to react.
"I am not starving myself", I say, but my voice cracks, because I'm not even convincing myself. Viewing myself in the mirror, I felt like I was dying, but never that it was wrong. Since Milo begun drifting out of my grasp, he subsequently began needing me less. Unavoidably so, along with his need for me, my reason to live faded with it.
"I can't stand it. There is something about you that I can't handle, something I'm not used to. I also can't help knowing that my presence will only ever do you harm. I am venom, to everyone I care about" He exasperates.
My gaze takes on a new emptiness. "I know it too" I proclaim abruptly. "You are a Venus fly trap and I am an insect. You are going to eat me alive".
He tilts further over the table, leaning on his sturdy underarms, closing our distance slowly. His face remains a couple of feet from mine, but I feel the warmth of his breath. Speaking slowed and deeply, he says
"You could have shot me and I would have forgiven you. You could rip everything away from me and I would forgive you then too. You are the one person I could follow to my own demise, and I wouldn't bat an eye before I rest six feet under" His voice sounds gruff and husky, and His gaze deepens even further with each word leaving his mouth. "Don't you realise, you are my Venus, too."
I remain silent, allowing him to continue.
"That's exactly why you have to leave once you feel better. God, I can't stand looking at you in this state, either. Tom will Introduce you to Dakota, who will see to that you return to good health",
"I can not allow you to stay after then, Venus" He concludes.
