chapter 3:

Matthew's pov

As we headed to our next class together me and elend talked about the project, and he is very interested in it, kinda odd though it didn't seem very... Well interesting to me until he asked me to be his partner... I was pulled from my thoughts as the girl from early came up to us walking along side us, "greetings lily" elend smiled over to her. "Hey elend!" She said then looked to me."hi matthew was it?"she asked smiling. "Yes, Mathew, is my name" I stayed looking straight smiling a small smile. I looked over to elend to see him messing with the neck of his sweater, "what's wrong?" I tilted my head a bit. "N-nothing!" He smiled weakly pulling his hands down. "Elend? Are you sure?" She asked concerned putting an arm around his shoulders. Her hand unknowingly moved some of his hair away showing of what looks like a bruise... "Then what's that?" I asked pointing it out as my stomach curled slightly. She gasped." Elend what happened!?" She asked the worry in her voice evident. "It's n-nothing!" He squeaked a thick lining of red settling on his cheeks. "I-is that what I think it is elend ?" She questioned while stuttering a bit and tilting her head. "it is nothing!" He quickly walked into class in an attempt to get away from us, I felt like I could punch something. But why?...

Lilys pov

The bell rang for last period to be over. I left my pink lace trim tank top and white and pink cheer shorts on. I grabbed my duffle bag and rushed out the door my converse squeaking against the polished floor. I took the route I needed to take to get home and noticed a few people I have class with taking the same route. "Guys!" I called out happily jogging over to them. "Hi lily" elend greeted. "Hello" luein snickered, "hmph" Mathew smiled. "I didnt know you guys took this route!" I said cheerfully and walking next to luein. "Hahaha well." Elend giggled as Mathew walked closer to him, "well we're neighbor's!" Luein laughed looking at me. I looked at luein and dozed off into his eyes for a bit. When I realized I was staring I looked away a light blush on my cheeks. "This is awesome!" I said wanting to hug someone. "Yeah it is" luein smiled looking ahead wrapping a arm around my shoulders. I smiled and blushed a little bit more keeping my hands to my side not sure if i should side hug him. We walked in silence for a few minutes when I finally spoke. "Just a few more houses and I should be home." I said seeing my house in view. "This is my house right here." Elend smiled grabbing mathews hand and pulling him up the cracked drive way, he has quite a broken down house if you ask me... But I didnt judge considering some people dont have luxuries other people have. "See you tomorrow lily!" He waved. "See ya!" I said back waving. It was now only me and luein and my house was two houses down. "My house is right there, so I'll see ya' later lil'" he chuckled walking ahead and across the road humming a delighted tune. I giggled and walked to my house or erm mansion and began opening it to change into my cheer uniform. I ran up my spiral staircase to my room and changed into my red and white cheer uniform. The red skirt had slits going from my thighs down to my knees with white at the ends and gold glitter at the tips. The shirt was tight fitted and showed my stomach. It was red with a large whit triangle pointing down with the words 'wildcats' across it in gold glitter.I put my hair up in a high ponytail again and put my red bow in my hair. I also put extra clothes in my duffle bag and walked back downstairs and out the front door locking it behind me. "Oh! Your part of the wildcats to!?" A girl shouted running over to me. I turned around and saw a Blue haired girl with a big smile plastered to her cheeks and wearing co-captains outfit... "Ooooh so your the co-captain!" I said cheerfully,"they didnt tell me who would be co." I gave her a smile and showed her my colored in star. "Im captain by the way." I said putting my hands on my hips and smiling a bubbly smile. "Neato! I-i'm crystal, you are?" She said sweetly walking beside me. "Names lily!" I said peppily putting my hand out for her to shake. She grabbed my hand and shaped it into a fist then bumped it with hers, "there, its nice to meet you!" She smiled wider if possible. I giggled. "Nice to meet you to crystal. I see why they put you as co your just so peppy!" I smiled wider too feeling as if I didnt I wouldn't deserve the title i was given. "Really? I just thought I was good at cheering." She tilted her head. "Well it cant just be about cheering you have to be peppy to!" I said stopping in my tracks still smiling and doing a backflip, then a backbend, and finished with a bow and arrow. Throughout the whole thing I smiled as if I were the happiest person on earth. Then I continued walking since we were almost to the gym. "O-oh! That seems like that I guess" she smiled again as we reached the gym.
