Chad's POV:

Today I woke up and was so excited. Me and my friends Jake, Joshua, and Alexander finally got our Hogwarts letters, and we all agreed to open them together, although we already knew what they said. My older brother Caleb got his letter two years ago, and my younger sister Callie is supposed to get hers next year.

I quickly got dressed and raced downstairs to eat breakfast. We all decided to meet at Alexander's house, which is right next door to mine. Jake and Joshua live a little farther away from us, but still in the same neighbourhood. "Bartholomeus Cornulus Fredmer Cranberry Juice Brad Pitt the 16th, eat your food slowly!" My mother bellowed. I cringed when she used my real name. No one except my family and friends knows it, mainly because no one can pronounce it properly. When I first met my friends, they couldn't say it and decided to call me Chad, even though I hated the name. But through the years, I got used to it, so now I tell everyone to call me that.

"Mom, please just call me Chad," I say.

"Chew your food properly first!" She shouted again playfully. I giggled and chewed a little slower, trying to contain my excitement. After eating my breakfast, I grabbed my letter and ran towards the door.

"Bye Mom," I say before dashing out.

"Wait, Chad-" my mom says, but I don't hear her finish the sentence since I'm already running across my lawn and over to Alexander's house. I knock on the door and he answers it, his letter clutched in his hand.

I enter his house and and he says "I'm so excited that we finally got our letters! I can't wait to open them with Jake and Joshua too!"

"I'm also so excited! We've been waiting for this day since, like, forever!" I exclaim.

"I can't believe we're finally gonna go to Hogwarts! Wait, aren't Jake and Joshua supposed to be here?" Alexander asks.

"Yeah, I wonder what's taking them so long. While we wait, we should do something."

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Alexander asks with a crazy grin.

"I most definitely am," I say, returning the grin. We run to the bathroom, grab a bucket and fill it with water. Then we find some rope and attach it to the bucket and the top of the door. We wait until Jake and Joshua come, laughing and grinning, imagining how they'll react to our prank.
