With his heart beating wildly in his chest, Kyaire's worn out, size eleven shoes connected with the pavement beneath him. Heavy thudding noises echoed off of the ground, mixing in with the sound of his choppy breathing. The male sprinted down a darkened sidewalk with his hoodie thrown over his head, catching the attention of a few cars that happened to be passing by.
Looking over his left shoulder momentarily, he could see that the older man, who was yelling out a string of profanities, was not too far behind him.
Kyaire picked up the pace, pushing himself faster in fear of being caught. Though his legs burned as he kept going, he refused to stop. He quickly busted a right, turning the corner that led onto the next street.
"Stay away from my store, you hoodlum! Next time I see you, I'm calling the fucking police!" A thick accent yelled out in the distance.
The man had given up, not seeing the point in chasing Ky anymore. He was too fast for him.
Those three years of running track in high school had paid off, thankfully.
Mumbling under his breath, the angered man turned around and began to head back to the corner store that he owned.
Not even ten minutes ago, Ky was spotted stealing.
Before the owner could even get a sentence out, the younger male was darting out of the door leaving nothing but dust behind him.He wasn't proud of what he'd done, but sometimes you have to take risks in order to survive.
Slowing down, Kyaire gradually put an end to his running. Inhaling and exhaling heavily, he attempted to catch his breath.
His lungs felt as if they were on fire, stinging with every gasp of air that he let in.
All of a sudden, he began to feel odd. The world around him started to spin, as if he were on a ride at the fair. The dizziness that overtook him quickly became unbearable.
His stomach began to turn, suddenly feeling the need to vomit. It was as if he was experiencing motion sickness, though he was standing completely still.
Ky then grew lightheaded. Placing a hand on his forehead, he frowned. His vision became spotty, and unclear. He blinked repeatedly, attempting to make it better. Unfortunately, it wasn't doing much of anything to help.
His body began to sway back and forth on its own.
Kyaire fought hard to keep himself up, but he couldn't.Everything went black as Kyaire's eyes rolled to back of his head. He then passed out, collapsing to the ground abruptly.
