Chapter 13: Smile

Xay's P.O.V

My head...I remember fainting from the fatigue of fighting that Corrupted Eldowin back at the downtown parts of solace and well I managed to fight him long enough that Leywin arrived so at least I'm not dead. Getting up I see I'm in a hospital it's relatively basic with white walls and a private bathroom to your right so you don't have any creeps laying eyes on you and a monitor for entertainment but since when has anything in a hospital been entertaining? great, So I'll just need to leave and maybe I'll be able to lend the others a hand after I get out of here. I slip out of my bed and start exiting only to be stopped by one of the doctors, "Xay? What are you doing?" "Oh Doctor, I was just heading out" The Doc looked at me and shook his head no, "I'm afraid not Xay, Although most of your wounds have been healed you still have some internal damage that will have to take maybe...a few days to fully stabilise, however, due to your exposure to Corruption energy you'll have to wait before you can go outside again" "I..." There wasn't much I could say, The internal injuries I could passively heal no problem but with the Corruptive energy exposure I couldn't do much about so with a disappointed sigh I told him, "I understand" "Excellent, Sorry if You are in a rush somewhere" "Don't worry"

The Doc left as I sat on the edge of my bed and scoffed, like hell I'm going to stay here but I'll have to leave when it's late, and right now the sun's setting so that shouldn't be long. In the meantime, I'll try and find ways to make my abilities more versatile. Spawning spears around me and well, I think of ways to use them I could make them explode into mini spear shrapnel, or maybe mini spears for a quick fire rate but the damage isn't going to be great...I'll have to tweak my skills if I want to see everyone again, I hope they're doing alright whatever it is they're doing.

After a couple of hours, it appears to be night, I get out of my bed despite my body's protests but I force myself out of bed and look through the window Pink lights are popping up more and more but I have no choice but to keep going. Hopping out of the window and flying through the sky I started heading towards The location where Ryo, Andromeda, and Zero's energy signatures were and at a pretty fast rate but the Corruption around the city is also pretty bad...maybe I could delay it somehow, The Hospital won't be happy of me leaving which isn't necessarily a problem but also I could stop the spread or at least slow it down and get some practice in. Okay then, New plan: Every day go through the normal hospital day and by night we practice our skills by destroying Crystals and killing off any crystal zombies or whatever she's got in her messed up army so this is my plan for now.

Descending to the ground and looking at the crystals forming around the city, I raise my hands and summon spears as I make them start turning and turning, they spin into a bright circle of light as I launch it toward the crystals and begin to break them! Nice, Now I'll need to keep doing this until the area was cleared

The Ancestral began this routine, by day he'd recover any of his internal wounds and by night he'd start slowing down the Corruption. We leave him to his devices as we head over to The Safehouse with the rest of the gang and mostly everyone was asleep, Mostly Everyone.

Ryo was walking through the place with him sighing and groaning from time to time, he doesn't know why he decided to stay up he just wanted to be awake and then see Xay and Eldowin walk through the entrance telling them that everything was fine but he knows that was just wishful thinking, 'Ugh, should I just get something to eat' so he begins traversing to the Kitchen and when he opens the door to it he sees Zero Making himself Coffee, "Oh hey Zero, why are you up this late?" "Oh, no reason I'm just...well.." Zero takes a sip of his coffee with a sigh as Ryo has a drowsy smile on his face responding with a chuckle, "Yeah I know what you're trying to say, things are just missing something right? We miss our friends" Zero nods as he puts his hands in his pockets allowing him to continue, "In situations like this, we sometimes should just have a smile on our faces because that smile can carry us through many troubles, it can give others strength and inspiration to fight and it can brighten someone's day. So with that information, why not give me a smile?" Ryu asks looking at Zero and he kind of huffs in amusement saying, "Your elemental energy fits you to the tea Ryo" "What's so wrong about that? Come on, we need a little energy in our lives so smile" Zero stays silent and sips his coffee "Come on, Smile, Smiile" Ryu starts annoying Zero and he sighs having a small snicker, "Ryo enough" "Come ooonn Smiile" "Ryo" Ryo started pestering Zero and after enough times Zero said, "Alright! I'll smile" "Finally!" Ryo has a grin on his face with Zero giving him the best smile he could, "There it is! Haha! Prize-winning Smile right there" Zero snickered the smile on his face staying for a few more seconds before he said, "Thank you Ryo, I-I needed that" He says and He responded with, "Of Course-" "Oh heya guys" Andromeda turned on the lights as she yawns and looks at the two fixing her shirt a bit as she questions, "Why are you guys up" Zero says in a calm smile on his face "Were having a relaxing moment" "Mind if I intrude?" "If you want" Andromeda talks with the two as she gets herself some food and watches as Ryo makes light of the situation they're in with Zero trying his best to not laugh with Andromeda not bothering to hide it as she helps tease Zero with Ryo making them all share a laugh that eventually got them in trouble, Leywin appearing in his onesie and eyebags apparent "Guys! Do you know how fucking late it is? Come on head to bed" The three head over to their respective rooms with a smile on their face and a feeling of Safety within this Safehouse..
