POV-(Y/n):
Tanjiro: Are you sure you don't want to sleep inside the house?
(Y/n): I'm sure, Tanjiro. I don't want to inconvenience your family further, past the kindness you've already offered.
Tanjiro: It's no inconvenience, at least let me get you a quilt and pillow!
(Y/n): A quilt and pillow would be great, actually!
Tanjiro: Great! I'll be right back.
The boy swiftly ran back to the inside of his house, leaving me out alone beneath the starry night sky. I then walked out a few meters away from the shed. Clearing off a small section of the ground from the snow and finding a few stones to arrange in a circular pattern on the cold ground.
Once that was done, I walked around the pretty yard gathering various sticks and a bit of straw. Walking back to the shed, I reached inside my pack and pulled out a folded mat, the material that I always laid on when camping. Then a small bag of which contained several quartz, obsidian, and other types of flint-family rocks. I pulled out another small cloth from my pack and unwrapped it, revealing the hand-stone wrapped up within it. Once all that was done, I walked back out to the stone circle and arranged the sticks and straw properly and rolled out the mat. Now with the hand-stone and a piece of quartz in tow, I struck the two against each other twice; creating enough sparks to flare up the straw and start a small fire.
A small smile on my face, I put the hand-stone and quartz back into my pack and looked into the campfire I had just started. It was a pleasant bright orange blaze; the flames popping in the night air. I stared into it's core, it's bright color mesmerizing me. I exhaled, my hot breath making fogged breath in the chilled night air. Moving my left hand in a circular motion and focusing on the snow, it started to turn to a layer of thick ice; creating a circular border of solid ice around the campfire which would prevent it from spreading.
Next I looked at the fire itself. Burning and majestic; it's elegant glow warming my cold skin. I stuck my hand out towards it with my fingers perfectly flat and together. Then, I began to spread my fingers, like I was motioning the number five or giving a wave. The flames began to spread apart just like my fingers, matching them. Slowly rotating my hand in a clockwise motion. The flames began to take shape to match my very will; them now under my control.
Using my hands in slight motions; I shaped the fire into the likeness of animals. It had been awhile since I had practiced with fire, far too long. First I shaped the tips of the flames into a rabbit, it hopping through the night sky. Next I shaped the flames into a snake, it making serpentine movements through the air. Finished with that; I formed the flames into a cat, it's precise feline movements elegant and calculated as it walked through the air.
Focusing significantly harder; I shaped the fire into a proud knight, him swinging his flaming blade around perfectly. Next a robed figure taking shape in the flames, the figure's sickly and frail body a stark contrast to the broad strong frame of the knight.
(Y/n): Brothers...
The flames now working off of my subconscious, the flames formed into a beautiful butterfly. The butterfly elegantly fluttered through the sky, it's delicate wings keeping it afloat. Embers shaping into the iridescent scales on it's wings, it left such a gorgeous trail of light as it flew around.
The butterfly then gave me...lovely memories of her.
Long silky black hair flowed in the breeze as the ethereal moonlight of the Boreal Valley made her pale amaranthine eyes glow in the night's darkness. Nothing but a white sacrificial gown to cover her lovely curvaceous form. Despite the horrid situation she had been in prior...she never lost her smile. A sweet smile powerful enough to warm even my heart.
