Tom naturally awoke just before dawn, wincing slightly as a dull ache rose up in his arms and back. Before opening his eyes, he gave Rosemary a slight squeeze, making sure it wasn't just a dream he had. Slowly lifting his eyelids he took in the sight of her cuddled up close to him. Her face had a peaceful expression, her rosy lips ever so slightly parted. He brought her in close and gave her a kiss on the forehead, causing her eyes to flutter open. Her once relaxed lips curved up into a slight smile shortly before she leaned up and gave him a few light and sleepy kisses.
"Good morning." She said sweetly, still barely parted from his lips.
"Good morning." He replied, holding her even tighter as he bridged the gap, kissing her with a little more urgency. "It's nearly sunrise, we must be off, or else we'll be caught."
"Oh, Tom, could you turn me into a dog." She pouted sleepily, wrapping her arms around him. "I'd like to spend the day with you."
He laughed, starting to sit up. "I could never do that to you on purpose, darling. Besides, you have a busy day today. But...I could come see you tonight. I can come through the passage to your chamber once I'm finished working if you'd like."
"Oh yes, I'd love that very much. You'll stay with me the whole night?"
"If you want me to, darling. I'm sure you've a more proper bed than this." He patted the quilt, smiling down at her as she stretched out on it.
"It's ginormous." She said with a yawn, sitting up while stretching her arms above her head. "You could roll over ten times and never hit the ground."
"I'm sure I'd love to roll around with you again." He smirked playfully while running his hand down her side, delighting in its curvature.
She smiled, burying her head in his chest. "Promise?"
"Of course." He kissed her deeply, moaning as he felt himself grow, throbbing against her leg. He moaned slightly as she pressed herself against him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Don't get me started, love."
Rosemary giggled, and begrudgingly they broke away and began dressing themselves the best they could. They made their way to the passage, Rosemary dragging the quilt behind her, struggling to keep it up. He picked up the bottom, holding it as they trudged through. The grimy walls were a sanctuary: they could be an authentic pair without the outside world getting in the way. The short walk was almost a ritual now, but it was dreaded as much as it was enjoyed. Once they made it to Rosemary's door, the all too familiar reluctance to part from each other plagued them once again.
"I'll come up with a plan with Zendaya today and tell you all about it when you visit me tonight." Rosemary said, looking into his eyes with more hope than she'd ever had.
"Zendaya?" Tom raised an eyebrow. "She knows?"
"She's a trusted friend and a huge help—"
"And she caught you, didn't she?" Tom teased her, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
"Oh! Well—yes. But I assure you there's nothing to fear—"
"I knew she was a clever one...and she was very kind to me on your accord. But now that I think about it I'm sure you remember—"
"All too well." Rosemary smacked her face in embarrassment, color rising to her cheeks. Tom gingerly took her hand away and kissed it, looking all too satisfied.
"Well Rosemary, you shouldn't be ashamed. Especially since Harrison made a fool of me many, many times in your presence—"
Rosemary let out a snort, remembering Harrison's rants and raves. "I adore Harrison! Which is strange since he doesn't really know me at all...but are you going to tell him?"
