"Thea, bakit?"
Memories flashed in her mind as Allie stared at the beautiful scenery of Sagada. Her heart clenched as she recalled the painful goodbye of Yosh and her.
"Okay naman tayo, 'di ba? Bakit. . . Bakit mo sinasabing sumusuko ka na?" Yosh held her hand while they were both crying.
Allie sniffed and looked away. "Yosh, c-can y-you just let me go? I-I don't want to continue the things we planned together, anymore."
Pain crossed his eyes as he looked at the woman who became his strength and the reason why he was still holding on. Both hearts were shattering as they heard each other's cry under the rainy night. It was cold, the air and the raindrops.
"Why? Allie, n-no. P-Please," he begged.
His Mom just died and he can't let her go, too. Ayaw niyang mawala rin si Allie ngayon. Kailangan niya ng lakas. Kailangan niya si Allie.
But Allie wasn't aware of his Mom's condition.
"A-Ayaw ko na, Yosh." Bulong ni Allie.
He stared at her and looked into her eyes. The determination to stop everything was evident in her eyes. He wants to fight for them. He wants to try again. . . to make things okay.
"Did I do something wrong? Tell m-me, I'll change it, Allie. J-Just. . . Just don't let me go." He cried like a child in front of her.
Allie thought of what she was overthinking days before yesterday. Paano kung may babae si Yosh? Iiwan niya 'ko at sasama siya roon, tapos ako ay iiyak dahil wala na si Yosh sa akin. It was shallow. Super shallow. But she won't let that happen that's why she's ending things between them.
She wants to protect herself against that thought. And to protect herself is to break everything. 'Yon ang alam niyang tama, ang tapusin lahat.
"Please, Yosh? T-Tama na."
Akala ni Allie ay aayaw pa rin si Kiyoshi. Magbe-beg pa rin siya kahit na nagmamatigas na siya. Her sobs became louder and so did the raindrops when Kiyoshi let go of her hand and smiled painfully at her.
"Okay, Thea, I'm setting you free now." He whispered. "I'm tired of depending myself to you, and I guess this is the time to stop it already. Baka p-pagod ka na rin s-sa akin."
And that night, Kiyoshi's heart shattered more than a hundred times.
His Mom died and he let go of the woman he truly loves.
