They went to the place where they both ended things together. The place where their heart shattered into pieces.
"L-Let me do all the talk, j-just listen," Allie said when they both sat on the grass.
Kiyoshi nodded. He looked at Allie to make sure she was comfortable. His lips curled when he saw how comfortable she was while wearing the hoodie he had given her before.
"I-I know what happened that day, Yosh." Allie started and stared at her feet. "T-Tita. . . Tita died," nagsimulang lumuha ulit si Allie habang nakatingin sa kaniyang mga paa.
Kiyoshi stopped. He swallowed hard when Allie brought up again the thing about his Mom. Throughout the years that passed, no one ever mentioned his Mom again. It was a sensitive topic for him.
"And I left you. I'm sorry," Allie wiped her tears using the back of her hand. "Ang hirap isipin na iwan ka noong panahong 'yon. When I begged you to let me go, after that, I knew about what happened."
Sising-sisi noon si Allie. The time she knew about what happened to his Mom, she regretted the things she said. Gusto niyang bawiin ang lahat ng sinabi niya pero huli na siya.
"My reason was shallow, Yosh, hindi ko alam kung matatawa ka o magagalit ka dahil doon sa rason ko." Allie continued, "iniisip ko na baka may babae ka tapos iiwan mo 'ko. Hanggang sa iiyak ako nang iiyak dahil iniwan mo 'ko."
Kiyoshi thought her reason would hurt him. Na baka pagod na rin ito sa kaniya. But he was wrong. It's different. Kiyoshi suppressed his laugh. He covered his mouth with his hand and tilted his head to the side.
Tangina naman, Allie.
"Huwag mo nga akong tinatawanan, Yosh!" Iyak ni Allie.
Hindi na napigilan ni Kiyoshi ang pagtawa dahil sa narinig. Tumingin siya sa babaeng mahal niya at nakitang pinupunasan ang mukha nitong basang-basa ng luha. He stopped laughing and caught her hands.
"Hush now, baby," he whispered.
Yumuko si Allie at suminghot. Her Mom was right, tatawanan siya ni Kiyoshi dahil sa rason niya. Umirap si Allie at umiwas ng tingin.
"Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa akin 'yung iniisip mo?" He asked. "Sabi ko naman sa 'yo, 'di ba? Na sabihin mo sa akin lahat ng iniisip mo, hmm?"
"Natatakot ako. Baka iwanan mo ako agad dahil doon," she replied.
Tumawa si Kiyoshi nang malakas. "You think I'm that shallow? That I'll leave you after hearing your thoughts?" He asked, amused. "Baby, naman. Alam mo namang lagi kitang iniintindi, 'di ba? Mahal kita at kahit ano'ng mangyari ikaw ang lakas ko. Ikaw ang pinagsasabihan ko nang lahat kaya dapat ikaw rin gano'n.
"Ang daya kasi magkasama tayo tumatawa, tapos kinikimkim mo mga sama ng loob mo."
"Yosh." She's out of words!
"Mahal kita. Let me make it up to you," he winked at her.
