Chapter 19

holy poop im in chapter 19 already. wow, so thank you if you’ve read every chapter ilysm and i honestly only wrote this story bc my friend was forcing me to. umm, i don’t really have any notes for this chapter. OH PERSONAL NOTE~ LITTLE MIX ISN’T COMING TO INDIANA UNITL JUNE AND THAT MAKES ME REALLY MAD BC I THOUGHT THEY WERE COMING SOON AND WZPL SAID THAT MANAGEMENT WON’T LET THEM TALK ABOUT IT SO MAYBE IT’S A MINI TOUR??? idk im just happy i get to see them, they’ve literally helped me through so much. wow okay there’s my little mix rant~~

(Maggie’s POV)

“Pop sensation, Zayn Malik was spotted earlier this morning on the beach with an unnamed lady that goes by the name of Maddie. The two were seen hugging and talking very lovey-dovey like. It appears they were walking extremely close to each other as well. Reporter said this about the two, “... and I just so happened to see the two teens walking along the beach. They seemed to be very intimate with each other. I should have minded my own business, but not many teens in Australia have quiffs. I was surprised to see that it was the one and only, Mr. Zayn Malik. Here’s the tape.” The banner across the screen read, “Zayn Malik cheating on the lovely Maggie Drislane?” I sat on the couch and didn’t move. Maddie and Zayn? What were they doing on the beach so late at night?

“Hey babe, what’s up?” Maddie sat next to me on the couch and watched the news with eyes wide open. “Oh my god, Maggie. It’s not what it looks like, I promise. You’ve got to believe me. I just dragged him out of the house at ungodly hours of the night to talk to him, I wanted to know what happened between the two of you. I went to find you, but you were in Niall’s arms so I didn’t want to wake you up. I’m sorry, please don’t be mad at me.” I looked over at Maddie and took a breath in.

“It’s over with him and I. I gave him his ring back.” She moved to put her arms around me, and I let her. There’s no use in trying to fight with anybody when all I want to do is sleep. Sleep and never wake up is something that sounds really comforting at the moment.

“I’m so sorry Maggie.” She said with a hoarse voice.

“S’not your fault. Lets go on a walk. I don’t want to be here when everybody comes out of their rooms.” We put on our flip flops and walked out of the house into the early morning sun of Australia.

“Hey Maggie, do you think you’ll get back with Zayn?”

“I’m not sure. I guess we’ll just have to see what happens. A lot is going on in my life, and I think I’m getting bad again.”

“I’ll never leave your side. Maggie, please just don’t hurt yourself. I don’t know what I’d do...” I turned to look at her.

“No matter how hard it is, I’m going to remain breathing.” She smiled and thanked me.

“Oh look! It’s Maggie and Maddie!” I hear the two voices coming from behind us and instantly I knew that we weren’t going to be able to escape.

“Okay, listen up, I’m not mad at Maddie. She did nothing wro-”

“We don’t want to hear about that, we want to know about you and your new said-to-be boyfriend. Who’s this?” I looked at the picture that the guy was holding out in front of me.

“Him? Oh my god no. He’s my best friend Jeff. It’s impossible for us to be together. He has a, uh, partner.” I stifled a laugh but I remained calm. If only they knew.

“So can you explain this?” I looked at the picture of him and I hugging and acting very coupley in the park the other day.

“Okay. Listen. Jeff is gay. I was talking to him about some relationship problems, and he was just there to listen and help me. Honestly.”
