Inaya's POV

If I were writing a book about the turbulence of events my life had come across its title would be "The River I Crossed". Apparently my mind had zoomed out a few trail of events during my one month of coma. Yes. After talking to Abhinash and Chachi my doctor informed me that I had been unconscious for a month. Aditi Shah, the most wanted heir of the illegal petroleum business was locked up behind bars. Mr. Rishi Shah is still under critical medical condtions with a narrow chance of survival. Everyone in the family knows about Chachi's occupation as the head of the secret criminal department of FBI and they are more than proud and welcoming of this new information. I have officially changed my resumé and added my dual majors' degree. At first I felt the few segments of my recent memory had been an vividly uncoordinated play of my mind because I don't recall the happenings of the past 2 months except hapazardly scattered glimpses. But-

"Hey Di! May we come in?" Ishika asked knocking on the door.

We?

"Sure!" As soon the word left my vocal cords Ishika Naira and Roop entered making a train with Roop as the engine.

"The train has reached its destination. Coming to hault." Roop says as her hands are clamped in front of her face to make the smokestack of the train.

"Hello winter!!!" She screamed jumping onto the bed as Ishika and Naira jumped in too.

I hugged her tightly.

"I missed you Roop!" I said snuggling into her arms.

"Someone's ignoring us. We are hurt." Ishika and Naira said in a singsong.

"Group hug everyone!" Roop said pulling them in. If my life is a book, then they would be those beautiful chapters I would like to reread everytime.

"Ok ok before we proceed Bhai asked me to give you this. He said you left it in the hospital by mistake." Naira said passing me a small box wrapped in soft red velvet. I took it.

"I don't remember forgetting any-" it's a ring.

"Winter? Are you okay? You look like you want to throw up." Roop asked resting her hand on my shoulders.

"Di? You do remember Jiju's proposal ri-"

"He proposed?!" I screeched I feel.

"You don't remember?!!!" They all shouted in unison.

"N- no I- I don't. What exactly happened? I- I don't seem to recollect much memories of my birthday. I have revived many glimpses in the past few days so I thought I will remember everything eventually- " I said fiddling with the hem of my sweatshirt. I was remembering. I recall the dress he gifted- okay a I recall a bit of it. The celebration and everything but then it's hazy.

"We should call Bhai in case there's anything serious." Naira said standing up.

"And pass me the phone." Ishika followed her out.

"But he might be busy?" I asked unsure. My mind wasn't steady. I have been proposed and I don't remember. What else do I need?

"He's never busy for you Winter. Now calm down. You look feverish all over. I'm pretty sure he has gone through all your reports and it isn't any big of a problem." Roop said sitting closer to me.

"But I feel so bad. He- he confessed his feelings to me and I- I simply forgot. I kept him in dark about my job. I'm sure he's angry. That's why he didn't come to handover the ring himself." I said sounding like a 17 year old teenager who didn't receive her crush's confession letter.

"Why do you sound like a 16 year old teenage girl who's freaking out because she by mistake deleted her crush's confession message?" Roop asked. I started laughing.
