"LAILA O'CONNELL! Where the hell were you?" said Rick seeing her with Medjet with the other horses. "Oh come on." said Laila knowing she going to get a lecture like he done before when she was a teenager. "What?" said Rick walking over to her. "I had a night ride with Medjet until we go got tired. Besides i can handle myself and you and the dumbass over knows it." said Laila gesturing Beni coming out of his tent close by. "I know that but with the desert people out there and what happened last night." said Rick. "I cant forget that. Look I'm perfectly fine." said Laila walking to their dig. "We'll you better stick round when we open up the sarcophagus." said Rick making her stop. "Are yo insane?" said Laila. "You?" said Evie coming with her tools. "Us opening the sarcophagus." said Rick. "Its a bad idea. Plus we still need to leave before the Medjais come by." said Laila. "The desert People?" said Rick. "Thats the name of their tribe. Ive done my readings unlike someone i know." said Laila looking at Rick. "If you believe this curse then fine but theres harm of seeing who it is." said Evie going inside. "You heard her." said Rick following EVie. "Only because yo and her have a thing going on." said Laila walking with him. She can feel her heartbeat going fast the closer they were getting to where they left the sarcophagus. Jonathan was already there using the key to open the first sarcophagus and got Rick to help him lift the lid while Evie was setting up the tools. "I dont like this." said Laila. "Theres nothing to worry about." said Evie. "Laila help us get this out." said Rick getting a grip in the bottom of the other sarcophagus.. "Hell no." said Laila. "Relax. I think we got this one." said Jonathan. "Why are you so worked over this?" said Evie. "Theres some things you dont really know about and neither does Rick." said Laila in a low voice. She then saw the boys get it out and move it against the wall while Evie looked very excited and walked with her with her arms crossed. "Ive dreamed about this since i was a little girl." said Evie. "You dream about dead guys?" said Rick which was ignored by Evie noticing the hieroglyphics were chiseled off. "Alright lets who's inside shall we?" said Jonathan using the key to open it then tossed aside. "Did one of you steal the key from me while i was napping last night?" said Laila looking the siblings. "I'll you later." said Evie as the boy got the lid off. the mummy the jumped half way out making everyone scream until the dust was cleared and see him better. "Allah have mercy on us." said Laila covering her mouth with her hands. She cant keep her eyes off of the dried looking mummy before looking as if it was looking only at her and felt something familiar about him. "I hate it when these things do that." said Evie. "is he supposed to look like that?" said Rick.

Laila looked away and noticed the claw like marks on the inside of the lid with a message, 'Death is only the Beginning.' She then backed away and left without being seen. She walked out and scavenge some food for the group while keeping her mind off of the mummy until she bumped into one of the americans. "Sorry. i didnt see you." said Laila looking see a slim looking man with glasses. "No worries. I wasnt looking either. Im Burns and you are?" said the man shaking her hand not his eyes off of her. "Laila O'Connell." said Laila. "Wife?' said Burns. "Oh god. No. Im like his best friend who sees me as a sister." said Laila then noticed a jar in his hand. "Why are holding a sacred jar?" she asked. "We found it along with the book of the dead yesterday. Worth something right?" said Burns. "If the seller wants old organ dust." said Laila. "Old what?" said Burns. "Thats one of the sacred jars that hold human organs during mummification." said Laila waking away with her her bag of stolen goods. She went back put out what she has and started eating and distract herself from who she believes she saw. "There you re. Oh good you got us something. Right on time. Evelyn stayed behind to look at our mummy better." siad Rick sitting down with Jonathan sitting next to her. "So what were telling Evie about some things that we dont know about. Explain." said Rick. "I cant tell you." said Laila holding a red apple. "Unless we are really fucked." she says before taking a bite. Laila kept avoiding rick and Jonathan's questions until hey gave up and went their ways until it was night fall. they all sat by the fire talking as Evie came over with something in her hands and took her seat back from Beni after Rick scared him off. Laila knew how the man died from Ardeth and the Curator telling her along with her reading while the Americans came with their sacred jars thinking it was valuable except Burns. She later found herself asleep hearing the voices speaking to her in a whisper and turned to her side facing away from the fire then sot her eyes open to the sound of a scream coming from inside the temple. Laila turned to see Evie with the book open and the American Curator shouting at her. "Evie! Do you realize who you just woken up?!" said Laila as the wind suddenly started picking up and shift. "Everyone take cover now!" she shouted then ran inside with the others following. They got split up with Laila running with Rick, Evie, and Jonathan until they slowed down to one of the many tunnels. then the whole temple shook like there was an earthquake with the sand moving and burst into many live scarabs.

"Run!" siad Evie as they went the other way down with stone ramp to a different room until the boys jumped on one side and the girls on the ledge of the wall. The scarabs passed by until a secret wall opened behind them making them fall back and closed up. Once the bugs were all gone. Laila rolled on her stomach with Evie in top on her quickly getting up and looked around until she heard a noise. She turned around the corner relieved to see Burns as Evie saw him too standing there. "We are glad to see yo Burns." said Laila walking over to him with Evie. "We were so scared. We lost everyone." said Evie as Burns turned around. She and Lila screamed seeing that his eyes were gone from their sockets backing away from him until they went to tur around but someone emerged from the shadows. There walking in front of them looking down at their scared figure with Burn's eyes making scream again moving away from him with the mummy still walking towards hem hitting the wall. "Anuck Su Namun?" said the mummy looking at Evie then glanced at Laila. He gasped in shocked reached his skeletal hand up to her face running it down gently down to her cheek bones making her body shake a bit as he looked at the rest of her body n disbelief. "I thought i never see you again." said the mummy then looked around the room for something. "Where is my niece or nephew?" said the mummy looking back at her. "What?" said Laila confused. "Its me. Imhotep. Your brother? Dont you remember me, Masika?" said Imhotep looking confused and broken. "There you two are. Will you quit playing and get the hell outta here?" said Rick then saw Imhotep jumping back against them. "Evie? Laila?" said Jonathan making the mummy snarl facing the group who came in. He jumped dropping the torch in shock seeing Imhotep as the others stopped as Imhotep faced Rick and roared. Rick roared back then shot him at the leg making him fall as he grabbed Evie by the arm and left with other behind him. They kept on running until the Medjai were in front of them waiting holding their guns as a warning with Ardeth pulling down his mask looking at them. "We told you that you must leave. Now you have awoken the creature that we have feared for three thousand years." said Ardeth. "Relax i got him." said Rick. "You are all idiots. I have told you about but none of listened. He cant just die with a mortal weapon." said Laila stepping in front facing the group. "Youre seriously listening to this guy." said Rick looking at her. "I trust my husband with my life." said Laila as the medjai brought in Burns. "Your what?!" said Rick in shock. "What did yo bastards do to him?" said one of the men. "It was Imhotep's doing." said Laila glaring at him. "We saved him before the creature could finish his work. You all must leave and we must find a way to kill him." said Ardeth passing Rick with Laila. "I told you i got him.' aid Rick grabbing Laila by the arm stopping her. Ardeth turned to him with a dead serious face looking at him in the eyes. "Know this. He will never eat. Never sleep. He never stops." said Ardeth as Laila gestured him to go once he looked at her. They all soon left Hamunaptra going to Cairo City with seeing the hand Imhotep's shot out of the ground roaring loudly against the wind while Laila couldn't stop repeating what he said to her.
