Courage

Heeseung POV:

Jake has been practicing this choreography for a few days already and tomorrow he will perform it. Today his in the practice room in our home, practicing the choreography again. I'm kinda worried now because he hasn't eaten properly because of it.

I was in the kitchen cooking food for our lunch. I'm cooking Jake's favorite food right now so he can enjoy eating.

After cooking our dish, I went to the practice room. I opened the door and I saw him giving his best practice.

" Nae Sarang?" He stopped dancing and looked at me.

" Oh, yes Nae Sarang?"

" Stop practicing for a while? Hmm? You should eat first."

" Ok, let me just turn off the speaker." He said.

" Done! Let's go." He added.

We went in the table and prayed before eating the food I cooked.

" Oh! It's my favorite! Thank you Nae Sarang." He said smiling.

" You should eat a lot, you have lost weight, that's not good I'm worried."

" Sorry for making you worried Nae Sarang, it's just that I want to make my performance good."

" I'm sure you will do great Nae Sarang, I believe in you and you should believe in yourself, hm?"

" I will Nae Sarang, I'll eat properly now, I will make sure to eat a lot!" I smiled at him before we ate again.

He really eats a lot today, he was holding his tummy right now and saying he's so full.

" You really eat a lot, I'm glad. You should rest for now, it's not good if you're too tired tomorrow."

" Yeah, that's right, we should cuddle Nae Sarang!"

" I would love that! Let me just finish washing the plates."

" Ok!"

We cuddled for the whole day, though I noticed that Jake was still thinking about his performance tomorrow. I think he noticed me too that I noticed him so he told me that he's fine, which I didn't believe.

The next day, I didn't see Jake beside me. I immediately stood up and brushed my teeth before going to the living room. There I saw Jake drinking coffee.

" Good morning Nae Sarang. You woke up early today." I said to him before making my own coffee.

" Good morning Nae Sarang. I want to sleep more but I can't, I'm thinking about my performance today." He said. I went beside him and put my hand in his hand.

" For sure, you're overthinking now." I said which makes him look at me.

" I can't avoid it. What if I didn't do great? What if I made a mistake? What if the other contestants laugh at me? What if I-"

" Nae Sarang. I told you to believe in yourself. You have been practicing these past few days. Of course you'll do better. Also who cares if they laugh? I won't laugh at you but you know that's too impossible to happen. I'll be there for you, I'll cheer for you!"

" Nae Sarang." He said with the tone of someone's about to cry.

" Come here, let me hug you to give you energy!" He hugged me and I hugged him back. I kissed his forehead then to his lips.

When we finished drinking our coffee, Jake decided to take a bath. Once he was finished, I went inside the bathroom and took a bath as well. When I'm done, Jake and I went out and locked our house.

We went to my car. I opened the door for Jake and then  I went inside next. I drove the car to the place where the performance would happen. Once we got to our destination I saw Jake became so nervous again.

" Nae Sarang, everything will be alright, trust me. You'll be fine, you can do it, I'm here for you, hmmm." I reassured him.

" Take a deep breath. Inhale, hold it for 5 seconds then exhale." He did it and somehow he looks calm.

We went out of our car and then we went inside the place. There are a lot of contestants here along with their friends, lovers, and parents. It looks like it already started as one of the contestants went inside. So there's no audience? It's just the judge and the contestant.

" Nae Sarang." Jake called me.

" Yes, Nae Sarang?"

" I'll do my best!"

" Of course you will! I'll give you a special gift once you are finished!"

" Ok! I'll keep that in mind."

" We wait till the other contestants finish their performance. I saw some contestants go outside the door crying to their friends/lovers/parents, while some of them are cheering. There were only two contestants left before Jake's turn.

I felt Jake's grip in my hand became tight. I looked at him and reassured him that it will be alright, that he can do it.

The contestants are finished now. It's now Jake's turn, I kissed his forehead and gave him a nod before walking towards the room.

" You can do it Nae Sarang!" I told him before he went inside the room.

I waited for him, praying that he'll be alright, that his performance will be great.

When I heard the door opened I saw Jake looking down, walking towards me. I stood up and walked towards him as well.

" Nae Sarang..." He hugged me and I hugged him back immediately.

"..."

" It's alright, there's always next time, hmm? I'm proud of you, ok?" I told him.

"..." He still didn't respond, he just hugged me. I let go of the hug and hold Jake's chin to make him look at me.

I lifted up his chin to see his face, and there I saw him smiling so wide.

" I thought you were crying?"

" I'm not, hehe."

" I guess that means you got in, yeah?"

" That's right!"

" Then why did you look down when you walked out in that door?"

" I just wanna see how you will react hehe."

" Silly you, anyways congratulations Nae Sarang! Because of that you will get your special award at home!" I told him before hugging him back.

" Thank you Nae Sarang."

" You're always welcome Nae Sarang."

" Thank you for giving me the courage I needed. Thank you for supporting me always."

" Just for you my future husband!" I said before giving him a peck.
