I opened my eyes and saw everyone looking down at me, worried looks on their faces. I regained my focus fully and my eyes went straight to Matt, who was holding my hand. With anything medical, he was used to me passing out a lot, but it still worried him. I looked around and felt embarrassed, I'd only just met 2 of these people and I'd already passed out. I looked back to Matt and he climbed onto the bed, holding me tight and stroking my hair.
"It's ok, Fran, I know you don't like passing out..."
He took my face in his hands and stared at me.
"Are you ok now, Ches?" I nodded my head as he kissed my forehead and brought me into him again. The boys just sat there in silence, not wanting to interrupt us. I caught Alex looking at me, obviously concerned with what had just happened. I felt myself blush. I hoped no one had noticed. Matt got up and walked over to the kitchen, and called, "Wanna snack, Fran? Might make ya feel better."
"Go on then." He chucked me a bar of chocolate, and I just managed to catch it, tearing open the wrapper and taking a bite.
"That better?" He asked me. I nodded my head.
"Aight, I'll take ya back about 5, I'll let mum know when you'll be back."
"Thanks Matt."
We were all bored, so I suggested a game of Truth or Dare, and everyone agreed. We sat down on the floor, my still in my shirt and skirt, Matt, Nick and Jamie in t-shirts, and Alex wearing a black hoodie.
"Fran, you wanna ask the first question?" I nodded my head and spun the wheel in the centre, and the arrow landed on Jamie.
"Jamie, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
I sat there thinking. "Have you ever kissed anyone?"
"Apart from me mum, no." What a good start.
"Ok then... Matt, your turn. You're the 2nd youngest, I think."
"Yeah, I am." He spun the wheel and it landed on Alex, who looked up with trepidation.
"Truth or dare, Al?"
"Truth."
"You got a crush on anyone?"
"Nah, mate. Just having broken up with Johanna, no..."
"Ok, mate. Sorry, probably not the best question."
"It's fine."
Next it was Alex's turn, and the arrow landed on me. He looked at me, smiling. He obviously had a good question.
"Fran, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"Aight, you got a celebrity crush?"
"Yeah..." The boys looked at me with eagerness. "Tom Felton..."
Jamie looked puzzled. "Who's that?" He asked.
"Draco Malfoy out of fucking Harry Potter, mate!" Matt exclaimed, and Jamie nodded his head. Next was the turn of Jamie, and it landed on my brother.
"Matt, tru-"
"Dare." I laughed. My brother, always the daredevil. Jamie sat there thinking, he'd obviously thought Matt would've chosen truth, since everyone else had.
"Alright, mate, y'know me brain don't work, but go out into the corridor and yell I love me mum as loud as you can."
He stood up, and mumbled, "But I do love me mum." He opened the door and stepped outside, and shouted as loud as he could, laughs coming from our room and the rest of the corridor. A bunch of immature kids here, by the sound of it. He walked back in, and sat down, bursting into laughter. We continued with the game for many rounds, until I had to go home.
"Nick, Jamie, it was nice to meet ya." I gave them both hugs. Alex was driving us back, because Matt wanted to see mum. When I spoke, Matt smiled at me. "Oh look at me little sister, getting 'er proper Sheffield accent now." He chuckled, pulling me into his side. It was a bit awkward, me being 5'1 and him approaching 5'10. He was the tallest out of the boys by a long way. We left, and arrived back home shortly after, saying goodbye to Alex as he drove off, Matt deciding to stay for the weekend. He knocked on the door and mum opened it, surprised to see him there, and hugging him tight. I slipped past them and upstairs, but Matt saw me.
"Oi, come here you!" And ran up the stairs after me, as I laughed, nearly falling over. I got upstairs and tried to shut my door, but I was too slow. He forced it open and shut it, picking me up and throwing me onto my bed, tickling me. I squealed a lot and he wouldn't stop. "Matt, Matt, please..." I said, breathless. He eventually stopped and sat up looking at me. "You just don't have a celebrity crush, do ya? You've got an actual one."
"What are you on about?" But there was no point in hiding it. "Yeah, alright, I do."
"Who is it?" But I had the feeling he already knew.
"Is it... Nick?" I shook my head. "Jamie?" Still no. "Sam, that weird kid in your class?" I laughed and shook my head. "Jacob?" That was my best friend. He still hadn't got it. I was hopeful that he'd actually not worked it out, but that changed when he said the next name. "Is it Alex?" I looked down at my duvet and smiled, my cheeks flushing red. "Knew it." Then, unexpectedly, he jumped and ran down the stairs, shouting, "Mum, Francesca's got a crush on Alex!"
"Mum, I haven't don't listen to him!"
"Matthew, stop tormenting your sister." I ran downstairs, and found them in the kitchen. "So, how long you had a crush on him for?" Matt stared at me, smiling.
"Matthew, stop."
"Mum, it's fine... He's not lying." She stared at me in shock. "You actually do have a crush on Alex?" I nodded my head and felt heat rise to my cheeks again.
"I'm just worried about it Mum, cause of our ages..."
"I know, sweetie, maybe just wait a while, until you're older."
"That's a good idea..." But I didn't know if I wanted to do that.
I was in love with him, maybe even madly. Our age gap worried me, but I didn't want to wait and risk falling out of love with him, but I knew that wasn't possible.
When I went to sleep that night, all I thought about was him.
