I wandered up to my car taking deep breaths of the atmosphere while I could. I grabbed the handle of the old commodore and forced the key into the lock. You have to twist it hard to the right then slighty back to the left to unlock it. I did this, the same way I always had; but this time it felt new- refreshing- to do so. It felt like I was unlocking a new beginning. I swung open the driver's side door and sat in. Finally this felt real. I was actualy doing this. I was leaving, finally.
