It was the morning after the tension in the hospital. I was at the OBGYN with Xena , waiting to be seen. Her leg was shaking, I could feel the anxiety seeping from her. I grabbed her hand and held it tight. "We got this." I told her, I didn't want her to be scared or nervous, she's not alone, I'm here for her, Dexter and the baby. "I'm just wondering if Dexter told his mom yet." She responded. "I hope he did, the way she was talking to you yesterday, I would love to see her face drop knowing she's going to be a grandma." I responded, Xena nudged me and giggled. "I just don't want bullshit or lies you know? If we're doing this I need everyone support and love." She told me. "I completely agree." I told her. "My phone rang and it was Jayson calling me. "Xena Duncan." The nurse said calling her. "Go ahead, I'll meet you inside it's Jayson." I told her, she walked with the nurse while I picked up the phone. "Hey babe, wassup I was just about to see the doctor with Xe." I told him. "Oh I'm sorry babe I just wanted to say Merry Christmas." She said with a cute Christmas joy tone. I chuckled. "Merry Christmas babe." I responded. "And I wanted to see if you were coming over to my house tonight, I have a few presents that I need help opening." He said, he is so cute. "Well yes, I'm still coming over I just don't want to leave Xena so let me make sure she's okay for the day then it's you and me and Christmas movies all night." I reassured him. He laughed. "Okay sounds like a plan. I'll see you at the hospital later." He responded than hung up. My love for him is growing the more we're together.
Dexter
I was done with post care, doctors discharged me so now I'm just packing my bag. My parents walked in as if they were waiting for me. "The doctor discharged you?" My mom asked me, "yup just waiting on XENA to pick me up." I said confidently sitting on the bed. "Xena? No. We already have the car downstairs we can be on a plane back home in 2 hours." She told me, I sighed. "Ma stop, no. Xena needs me rightnow." I told them. "Need you? Your the one who just got out a hospital bed!" My father said angrily. "Dad cmon." I Began to responded to him. "No you come on, we're not going to sit here and put your care on pause for a little girl." He shouted to me. "SHE'S PREGNANT!" I yelled. The shock took over the room. Dead silence. Than Jayson walked in slowly, he could tell right now wasn't the best time. "Hey man, I just came to see if you need a ride, Xena at the doctor." He told me, "yeah man, just give me second." I told him, he quietly walked out. The silence still filled the room. "I thought I taught how to use a condom." My dad said, "seriously? I just told you I'm going to be a dad and this what you say?" I questioned him. "What you want us to say? You haven't even graduated yet and you let one of these fast ass girls convince you into a baby." My mom yelled. I grabbed my bag and walked to the door. "You know I ain't even want kids, because of y'all, how dysfunctional y'all parenting is and always been. Now I want this kid more than anything else in the world, just so I can be a better parent than y'all ever were to me." I told them and I walked into the hallway. "Dexter, we're not chasing you. If you're grown enough to be a father you're grown enough to stand on your own." She said to me, so stern. "Well, sounds better for me don't you think?" I asked them sarcastically. Then I walked away. I don't know why I'd expect different from them, they wasn't exactly the best parents but I don't care I just hope It can be a better one for my kid.
Xena
I was in the car on our way to Jayson and Dexter place. I had the ultrasound picture in my hand starting at it. It's like looking at a picture of a little pea , that little pea is a baby. I can't believe I'm going to be a mom. My phone ringed and I seen it was Dexter so I answered. "Hey.." I said to him, "hey babe wassup, we on our way to the house now, how was the appointment? How's the baby?" He asked me, I love seeing him like this so attentive and caring. "Everything is fine, the baby is fine, I have a picture from the doctor. Did you get to talk to your parents?" I asked him, I could hear him sigh. "Yeah, but we don't have to talk about that now, I'll see you at the house." He told me, I could hear in his voice the disappointment. "Okay, we'll I'll see you there. Love you, bye." I responded, then I hung up. "What he say?" Kalii asked me. "He said he told them but it sounds like it didn't go well." I told her putting my phone In the bag. "Well it's okay, you have me and Jayson, and your amazingly awesome boyfriend Dexter." She said softly shoving me. I grinned. "It's goin to be okay. I promise." She said to me, "I don't even know what my dad is going to say." I said looking out the window. "You want me to be with you when you tell him?" She asked me. "Nah, I think it's better if Dexter is there, at least that way my dad can meet him; but then again what prepares you to meet your daughters boyfriend/baby father." I said getting tense, Kalii grabbed my hand and held it. "It's going to be okay, you got this." She told me, I smiled. I love her so much, her support is literally what's been helping me get through everything. She's my other half and at this point she's literally my sister.
