Kai's pov

I quickly walk to get to college, the lunch break is almost over and I don't want to get scolded or absent due to the rain, especially with not being in Korea or at least in my school.
Just when I'm about to turn onto the road towards college the downpour suddenly intensifies and I'm forced to stop under the awning of a bar.
"What the hell! I'll take the delay or an absence like that!" I complain nervously, with the heavy schoolbag on my shoulder, my clothes and hair wet and the minutes passing by, making me even more late for class.
"Why the hell I didn't bring an umbrella?! I'm in London! It rains every day, I've been here for three weeks and I still have the habit of forgetting my umbrella!" I keep complaining, as if by some miracle it would stop raining, so that I still have to run to school.
As if that wasn't enough, I was in the worst spot of the awning, squeezed into the outer corner, where less than half of my body is covered by the pouring rain.
"Come on, stop!" I say hoping that some higher power would hear my prayers and make it stop.

Not even a second later I feel the rain that was soaking my hair stop, a white halo above my head, I look up seeing the umbrella of an unknown Samaritan, I turn and see a tall boy, with raven hair and apparently little older than me who smiles kindly at me.
"I thought you might need this, I'm Soobin" The boy introduced himself bowing.
"Thank you, nice to meet you, I'm Kai" I introduce myself, bowing as well.
"Nice to meet you too, you seem to be in a bit of a hurry, where do you have to go?" He asks me calmly, calming my nerves.
"At the college down the street, I'm late for class" I explain quickly.
"Better hurry then, let's make the road together, let's go" Soobin says walking away with me right next to him.
We walk quickly to reach the school, getting to know each other a little in the process, making everything less awkward.
"Can I ask you how old are you?" I ask him.
"Seventeen, what about you?" He asks.
"You're my hyung! I'm fifteen" I say smiling.
"May I ask what you are doing in London alone? Do you live here by any chance?" He asks and I giggle, sometimes I forget how Western I may seem to other Koreans.
"No, I don't live here, I'm on exchange for a couple of months here in London, I live at college, so I don't have many problems" I explain quickly "What about you?" I ask him.
"I'm on holiday with some friends" He replies, lucky.
"So you're Korean too" Soobin says to me.
"Yes, more or less, I live in Korea since I was seven years old, my mother is Korean and my father is American, born in Brazil... I mostly feel Korean though" I explain shortly.
"Oh, interesting! Anyway, we're here, good lesson Kai" He bids me.
"Thank you, have a nice holiday Soobin, it was nice meeting you, bye!" I bid him as well, running into the building.
"It was nice meeting you too!" I hear Soobin scream, before entering the school.

As I walk inside the classroom the teacher was doing the roll call.
"Sorry for being late, the rain stopped me for a while" I say almost breathlessly.
"Well arrived! You're five minutes late and you're soaked! Next time bring an umbrella and make sure you get in time!" The teacher recommends me.
"Yes of course" I say bending down in apology and sitting down in my seat, obviously I'm at the desk alone since, for some reason, no one wants to sit in the desk next to me.
I thought I would find a more welcoming environment here in London since I'm on exchange to learn English better and since I seem almost completely Western, but apparently things don't change here either, in fact here I'm too Asian for their tastes... Will there ever be a place where I'm not too much of either or am I doomed for life?
