Wispy lashes fluttered as Avayn rose from her slumber, turning her head to see rays of bright sunshine seeping through the crack in the curtains. Peeling off her blanket, the small girl got herself out of bed. A staff member making their way into her room soon after to open the curtains fully.
"Miss Rose, breakfast is downstairs." Giving the girl a short nod and leaving before she got a chance to say thank you.
Avalyn rubbed her eye with the back of her hand, letting out a little yawn as she walked into the bathroom. Brushing her teeth and taking a warm shower before she got dressed. Wearing a long sleeved white shirt paired with a pair of grey shorts. Her hair braided into two pigtails with a tiny white bow tie at each end.
She left the room to make her way downstairs. Brown doe eyes peering past each corner as she recalled her and Felix's steps from last night.
Oliver smirked, she looked a deer finding its way through an unknown forest. She walked so timidly, her footsteps making no sound as she took the biggest steps her legs let her.
He wondered when she would notice that she was going the wrong way. She had been for a while now. But he took it as an opportunity to simply observe the girl. Watching as her face twisted into one of confusion when she was met with a room she'd never seen before. Finally realizing that she took a wrong turn somewhere along the way.
It was just like back then, when Felix would have to go with her everywhere around the house so she wouldn't get lost.
She nibbled at her bottom lip, turning around only to suddenly be met with Oliver's hard chest. The girl let out a soft yelp, his hands rested on her waist to steady her. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you."
"I-it's okay." She didn't meet his eyes, and it made his jaw clench. He wanted her to look at him. "Um.. d-do you know the way?" she asked in embarrassment, her voice barely above a whisper.
He chuckled. Of course. That was it. She was just embarrassed. "I was just headed there now, i'll take you."
"Thank you." she gave him a shy smile.
His hands fell off her waist and to his side, gesturing for the girl to follow him. He finally allowed himself to breathe in her sweet scent, it was a mixture of berries and flowers. It was like her in a sense, a berry's sweetness and a flower's beauty.
From a front view, the girl was almost entirely hidden as she stuck by Oliver's side. Her hand quietly and gently slipping into his. An unknowing habit Felix had given her.
