The tension in the air was suffocating, Avalyn fiddling with her skirt as she shrunk into her seat. "F-Felix?" she called out softly. The boy looking down at her with his expression hard, letting his features soften at the hurt etched onto her face. "Are you mad at me?"

He sighed, "No angel i'm not.. fuck, i'm sorry." Placing a short kiss to her head. "I could never be mad at you." His eyes trailing over to Oliver with a spine chilling glare.

He was mad, yes. But not at her, never at her. She was too sweet for her own good. Oliver was the fucking problem. If he really wanted to play dirty he would send Oliver packing. But he didn't think that it warranted that bad of a response.

Oliver just smiled. Pretending to have no idea why the boy was upset. He was just playing the game, wasn't he?

The entire table could feel it. Farleigh and Venetia sharing a glance before going back to their breakfast.

Avalyn tried her hardest to ignore how heavy the air felt. Her frown never leaving her face as she took small glances at Oliver than Felix. Did something happen between them? Was that why Oliver was sad last night?

When breakfast was over, Felix had ventured off to wherever he went leaving the girl in Venetia's hands. Her legs crossed under her as she sat on his sister's bed. A small frown still on her face.

Venetia felt bad for the girl. Felix was unintentionally giving a bit of the cold shoulder.

"Am i the problem?" she mumbled softly, keeping her eyes on the small patterns on her clothes.

"No, of course not. Don't be silly Ava. That's almost impossible." Venetia reassured. Taking a seat next to her with a small smile. "Hey, look at me. You're not the cause of anything, i am."

"W-what?"

Venetia hummed, dropping herself into her sheets with a giggle. "I kissed Oliver, a lot."

Avalyn's head tilted in confusion, her attention turning to the other girl in question. "Why would he be mad at that?"

"Hmm.. my brother tends to get a little bit.. possessive. He doesn't really like to share."

The girl giggled, "So he's afraid you'll steal his best friend?"

"Yeah," Venetia grinned. "But you know me, when have i ever cared about these things." Her words weren't entirely true, but she wanted to get Avalyn's mind off of the two boys. "Now come on. Let's go down by the pool and relax."
