Chapter 3

I wake up to my phone beeping, i reach for it only to realise i had left it across my room on purpose.

I had a habit of turning it off and going back to sleep.

I sigh as i roll up into a sitting position, glaring at the small device before sliding off my bed to finally turn it off.

I check the time and huff, its too early!

But...i started work today.

I waddle to my bathroom tiredly and turn on the shower, waiting for it to heat up.

Rural showers always took longer than in the city.

I brush my teeth while i wait before finally climbing into the hot stream of water.

Once i was done scrubbing my skin and washing my hair i climb out and dry myself before walking to my closet.

I had chosen an outfit and hung it up on a multi-use hanger.

I sigh as i look down at it.

It seemed too professional for my tastes.

But i wanted to impress, at least for the first week.

I dry my hair before I get dressed into a white plain blouse, black jeans and the shoes, tucking the blouse in, i would be covered with the scrubs after today anyway so today is the only day i have to look this presentable.

I wrap my hair into a clean bun, leaving two strands of my long hair to frame my face and hold the bun with a plastic clip.

I look in the mirror and smile to myself, i don't look like my usual dark personalities self.

Good.

I walk out of my room, grabbing my tan jacket and laying it on the back of the couch.

"Damn, who are you and what have you done with my sister?" Lilly wanders out, still in her Bambi PJ's and rubbing her eyes sleepily.

"Arent you working late?" I ask her.

"Yeah" she nods before grabbing a bowl and pouring lucky charms and some milk.

I scrunch my nose up at her before grabbing an apple to eat on the way.

I didnt usually eat in the mornings but figured i might today.

I watch her scoop a spoonful of the cereal before i walk back to my room to grab my keys, phone and watch.

I snap the watch onto my wrist as i walk back to the couch, Lilly had turned on the TV and sat down on the other end of the couch.

She was watching the news.

A known serial killer has been reported around the area, he only hunts at night, lock your doors and windows and arm yourself.

This man is extremely dangerous and is reported to have no mercy.

The man is known as Michael Myers, a known killer from Haddonfield and one is who has escaped capture twice.

I sigh at the picture of the man in a white creepy mask.

I see Lilly turn to me silently.

"I'll be fine Lilly, you be careful later, he comes out at night, like the boogeyman" i chuckle at my own joke and see a pillow fly at me, i duck as it soars over my head.

"Not funny!" She complains.

"Yeah, yeah. Stay safe and take your tazer! I need to start walking or i'll be late, bye!" I call over my shoulder as i unlock the door and pull my coat on, tucking my keys and phone into my pocket as i walk.
