A/N: Hello! I'm getting surgery on my hand this week and don't know how long it will be until I can type again. I will write a bunch of chapters and schedule them to be released weekly in advance of the surgery. Please tell me what day you would like the weekly chapters to be released on. Thank you for reading and supporting the story <3

Yesterday I wished I had any excuse to take a day off school. Today, I woke up as a cat. It wasn't the excuse I was expecting. Yes, I totally freaked out, and I may have scratched up my lacy curtains in distress, but hey. I'm not going to school today. And, since my mom won't know its me, I'm going to sneak into the woods tonight that she always tells me not to go in.

Why? Well, there's rickety abandoned shed back there. My mom thinks drug dealers hide out there or something. Well, it's a perfect magnet to a curious and impulsive teen, and I've always wanted to go. She can't stop me today.

I push my backpack in the closet with my head so my mom thinks I already went to school. Then I curl up into a ball on my bed. The sun from the window warms my belly and it feels very nice. Now I understand why cats lie in the sun all day.

My mom comes into my room.

"Tara? Are you up?" she calls. Then she gasps.

"What happened in here? Oh! A cat? How did a cat get in? Oh, her poor curtains."

My mom picks me up and carries me outside. She's lucky it's just me and not a real cat because a real cat would scratch her face. I catch and eat a bird then find a warm rock to sleep on the rest of the day.

Why not go into the woods now? Well, I'm a teenager, and going to the creepy abandoned building at night is boring. I want to actually be scared. I want a thrill. So I stay by my rock all day until the sun starts to set.

The sunset isn't as beautiful as a cat as it would be for a human. I can't see colors as well as I used to. However, that isn't all bad because now I have night vision.

I follow the trail in the woods that leads to the creepy abandoned shed. The night wind is cold on my pink nose but not the rest of my body since I have fur. My fur is orange, by the way, like a tabby cat. It's the closest cat color to my actual hair that is strawberry blonde. My eyes are still blue though and my nails are still long. But now they're claws which is awesome.

The woods aren't that creepy. Boo. I see a mushroom that looks like a Mario mushroom and another one that's bright yellow. My paws crunch the dried up leaves on the ground. It isn't fall but since nobody rakes the woods there are always leaves on the ground.

I take a left on the trail and I see the abandoned shed. It's built of wood. There's cracks between the planks and a few of them are warped. There's moss or algae or something growing all over it. The roof is slanted. I hop onto the porch. The door is locked by a padlock but since it's so old it's sagged open just wide enough for a cat to slip through.

I can still hear my house from here. Cats have better hearing than humans or dogs. My parents are worried about me and also I'm totally grounded. they shouldn't be worried through because I'll come back. It's not like I hate them or fought them. Besides I texted my mom before she kicked me out that I'd be home late. It was hard to do with my nose instead of fingers but I figured it out. It's not like I ran away.

There's a wooden chair in the shed and some old used up cigarettes (regular ones, not weed or whatever other terrible things my mom thinks are back here). It's really boring actually, the only creepy thing at all tonight is that it's a full moon.

I still want tome excitement tonight. So, I decide to venture further into the woods.

A/N: Hello! Very different writing from my usual stuff, huh? Most of my stories actually come out like this, only with even more spelling mistakes. Then I edit and rearrange and rewrite them a lot until I like them, then I publish them. Then I read it a few days later, hate it, and rewrite it again. I'm not going to do that with this book though since it's just for fun and all I want to do is finish this book. Let's hope it's at least a little better than My Immortal LOL
