A/N long chapter today :) Would you all like weekly updates at a certain time or for me to keep uploading chapters as I write them?
The young man has the same icy blue eyes and white fur (well, hair) as the wolf did. He must be the wolf! He's like me; my hair was strawberry-blonde and my eyes are blue, and my fur and eyes match.
This whole experience makes me wonder how many creatures I have passed by that are actually humans, or rather, werecreatures. Everyone knows about werewolves (though I admittedly though they were fake until today), but no one's heard of a werecat like me. Whose to say the birds outside aren't werecreatueres? The neighbor's dog? That cockroach I squished a few days ago? Dang... I hope I didn't kill somebody I know.
"Hello, little werecat," says the boy, booping my nose. I scrunch my face at him. When he picked me up I tried so hard to wiggle free and scratch him but he held me so tightly and away from his face so I couldn't do anything.
"Did you see the curtain I just went behind? Yeah? Sorry, I know I shouldn't use my baby voice on someone who isn't a full time cat, but you're just so cute. You can go back there and change, then we can talk. Um... I'm guessing you're a girl, yeah? You smell like a girl. I don't have any girl clothes, but you can borrow some of Jasmine's. She won't mind. Just grab anything that looks like it fits. Go on now," he says.
I meow at him.
"Go on," he says again.
I tilt my head and meow again. His naturally pouty mouth becomes more noticeable. I don't know how to change back into a person. I don't even know how I turned into a cat to begin with. Maybe I'm stuck like this forever.
We stare at each other some more, unable to communicate. I try to make my meows sound like words the way some animals can in those "talking pet" youtube videos, but cat vocal chords can't produce all the sounds human vocal chords can, so I'm stumped.
Oh, I have an idea! I deliberately life one paw and gently touch the man's shin to show that I'm not simply scratching him out of revenge for being picked up. I scratch the letter I on his skin, and he picks up what I'm doing immediately.
"You're trying to write to me?" he asks.
I nod and meow. His face gets all confused, like, "Why don't you just turn back into a human and talk to me?" but he fetches some thick fancy paper and ink.
I dip my longest claw into the ink and letter by shaky letter write the message, "I don't know how to transform."
"Ohhh. Is tonight your first time as a cat?" he asks.
I nod and meow again.
"That makes sense," he says. "Well, tell me: what led to you turning into a cat in the first place? All of us weres have a trigger."
I think, but all I remember is wishing I didn't have to go to school.
"I wanted to be lazy," I write.
"Then go back in that room and wish with all your might to work hard," says the teen.
I went behind the curtain. It was a dressing room back there with racks of lots of clothes hanging up. Each rack had a distinct style of clothing, so I could tell each rack probably belonged to a different person. There was a rack with nude color sweaters, dark slacks, and soft scarves that looked very similar to what that boy has been wearing. There was a rack full of extremely fancy suits with satin on the lapels. One was filled with dark, moody colored clothing with a rugged appearance. One rack was full of extravagant ballgowns, and another was filled with normal girl's clothes. This is the rack from which I chose an outfit.
In order to transform back into a human, I thought for a moment about how much I wished to work hard. This was insincere, so I stayed a cat. I then thought about what things I might actually want to work hard for since I didn't want to work hard at school or my job. I decided I would like to work hard at exploring the entire world and all my life has to offer both as a cat and a human.
That time it worked, and suddenly I was a human again.
I stepped outside the curtain and the guy smiled at me, and sitting next to him were three other wolves. One was brown and two were black. Both the black ones were glaring at me. One of them took my place behind the curtain.
"Hi," I said, finally able to speak to the one who had found me.
"Hello, little werecat," he said. "What brings you here?"
A/N Wow. this book has been so much easier to write than my other books. I'm trying to do those books for a contest meanwhile this one is just for fun. So this one has no pressure and no standards, and so it's coming to me so easily. I wish all my books could be so no-pressure.
