His flame had burnt out long ago leaving the muddled wax alone and without purpose. His tired and cold burnt out body stood above the colorless world below. On the edge of a building quiet and still, eyes that have forgotten emotion could merely stare at the people bustling on the streets.
He hesitated not because He were afraid but because he were worried about those people. The people that had kept him alive. The people that had been afraid for him. The girl who protected him like she was his mother. The boy who cared for him like an older brother. Would this final decision make everything that those people had done for him completely meaningless? How would they react when they found out? How bad would this hurt those people?
Could he really step off into the abyss and leave those people behind. Could he leave those people with only his worn and broken body while he gets to fade away from this unforgivable world.
The answer was simple.
He could.
He didn't want to hurt them, but, in this moment, in this world, he couldn't help but be a bit selfish for once.
——He fell like tattered paper. A beautiful canvas once filled with warm and lovely colors all swept together in a heavenly design, yet when the person who filled that canvas was gone the paint began to flake and the colors dim. Although the picture was muddled he wouldn't let anyone else, even those people, paint over it, his canvas belonged solely to that person. That person had painted a picture of his soul, that person had given them meaning, without that person he simply couldn't exist.
He watched as the blurry colors of the road grew closer and closer. He took a final breath, but he never hit the ground. Instead the world went dark and his body felt like it was being violently pulled in every direction. His skin prickled with goosebumps as the feeling of being plunged into what felt like a whirlpool of ice shook the air from his lungs.
Every muscle, bone, and organ in his body felt like it was being strained until it all went calm. Enveloped in a dark space his form motionless it felt as if he were slipping in and out of consciousness. Out of the shadows bloomed a voice, familiar and soothing.
Although our time was short
I treasured every moment we spent together
There is nothing in this world that could've given me the happiness that you gave me
For thy eyes, for thy mind, for thy body
I fell for it all and I will never regret it
For all of the happiness that you so graciously gifted me
All of the chances
All of the smiles
And all of the warmth
I died surrounded by your love
It's only fair that you pass in the same way
For you to live happily to the end, with or without me,
That...
That was my final wish.
