The next morning after being awoken by ghosts, Yuu and Grim had been given the task of cleaning the front entrance to the college. The Bird-Man had equipped them with rags and a metal bucket of soapy water which Grim would end up making Yuu carry whilst he floated around freely. Yuu discovered that he did not enjoy seeing the Bird-Man early in the morning, he did not even like seeing him at all in the first place. It was easy to say that Yuu's morning was off to a rather terrible start.

Grim floated around admiring the area around them. The Main Street was lined with seven podiums holding up intricately carved statues. Yuu glanced at each statue noticing the names and descriptions engraved on the front of each podium though he did not care to read them. In his hands he carried a soapy bucket of water along with a few rags. There was a small wet spot on the side of his pants from the bucket hitting his leg when he walked.

"What's the deal with these seven statues? All of their faces look really scary," Grim flew up to one of the statues at the end, a large lady with her nose pointed up in pride and authority, "like, this lady here looks like she's got some reeeeal anger issues."

Yuu who was standing a few feet away sighed and closed his eyes, rubbing his forehead knowing Grim was most likely not going to end up helping him clean. He wasn't keen on arguing with the stubborn feline about it either. When he opened his eyes again another figure was standing next to Grim.

It was a boy, most likely a student, with ginger hair that flipped up at the ends messily and what looked to be a red heart drawn over his left eye. Yuu's first impression of the boy was, 'trouble'.

With his lips pulled up into a snarky-ish smile he asked, "You don't know the Queen of Hearts?"

Yuu watched as Grim spun around to face the boy, his ears perked up with curiosity, "Queen of Hearts? Is she some kind of big deal?"

The boy crossed his arms, "She was a queen who lived in a maze-like garden of roses long, long ago. A strict woman who prized order above all. Her roses must all be the same color and her card soldiers must all walk in sync. Yet no one defied her because the punishment was immediate decapitation!"

Grim's mouth dropped open, "Wah! That's seriously messed up!"

The boy smirked proudly and put his hand on his hip, "Pretty cool right? I'm a big fan. I mean, who would bother to obey a queen who was nice all the time."

"Yeah, true. A leader needs to be strong, anyway who're you?"

"Name's Ace. I'm a first-year student here, as of today! Pleased to meetcha!" Ace jabbed his thumb at his chest whilst introducing himself.

"I'm Grim! I'm a prodigy who's plannin' to be, like the greatest mage who ever lived! That there is my far less interesting hench-human," Grim pointed to Yuu who had made his way over to them not so long ago standing about a foot or two away from Ace, Yuu inwardly cringed at being called a "hench-human."

The ginger practically jumped when he noticed Yuu, "H-hey don't scare me like that man!"

Yuu blinked and looked up at the taller male. Ace huffed and shook his head before asking Yuu, "And your name is?"

"Yuu," he said blandly before turning and walking over to another statue, rag in hand ready to clean, obviously not interested in having any further conversation with the Ginger.

Ace frowned and looked at Grim pointing his finger at Yuu who was now crouched down cleaning one of the statues podiums, "What's his problem?"

"Never mind about him, who's the lion with the scar on its eye?"
