This is my purpose. It has to be done.
Luna slowly opened her eyes and exhaled. Doing so, she cleared her mind with all the thoughts she had been drowning herself lately. Whenever she zoned out, everything flashes back –the fresh memory of her past, her grievous sins and her fears, haunting her on the depths of her conscience.
She was currently supporting herself in a vertical log about 6 ft. high planted on the hard ground, with her right hand. Her left hand was pinned on her back, while her two feet was pointing straight upward. She inhaled and exhaled while she pushed herself up at the same time maintaining her body in balance so that she won't fall. She's been pushing herself into her limit lately, so she could be ready when that day comes; the day when she finally prove herself to her father.
A cold drop of sweat landed on the back of her right palm dripping from her head, caught her attention and noticed that she had been putting too much pressure on her right arm as she felt a slight pain in her elbow. So, as she once again pushed her right hand harder against the log, she interchanged the position of her arms; making her right arm positioned at the back while the left was now receiving all the pressure.
Feeling motivated, she started to count faster and picked up her pace when suddenly the door swung open and the wind from outside killed the candles that served as her only light in this dark room. She looked up to the door –which was now lighting the room, to see a woman, wearing a dull colored gown while her long blue hair was neatly brushed down to her back, knotted in a loose bun. The depths and shade of woman's eyes reflects Luna's as woman gazed upon her with those purple irises with such authority. The woman's presence made her stop on what she's doing only to stand properly to meet the lady.
Luna greeted her with a beaming smile, "Hello mother."
As always, Azusa got that impassive look. Saying that she's the kind of woman who takes everything seriously would be a big understatement. She's beyond serious and not to mention a very stringent woman. She's not the typical mother who would make breakfast in the morning, kiss you goodbye and tell you bedtime stories. She's more of a strict teacher, all worked up on pushing her child to become great and most powerful of all. To add up to Luna's frustration, Azusa has also a quite knack in ruining all the fun stuff of life, she always opposed the idea of going outside even before that incident happen and became unbearably demanding after it happened. Luna knew very well that her mother got issues in being tight with her, but her grandpa like to use the term 'overprotective' to describe her mother; just to make her feel better.
I guess that's what all mothers do, that's what she keep in mind.
Though Azusa just looked down on her, and made no interest to greet back.
"I decided to start early to today... I'm sorry for not informing you." Luna said as she bowed her head for forgiveness.
"That's good." Azusa said wearing no sorts of emotion then cleared her throat before she continued "But I think that's enough for today."
"But I just barely started, mother. Perhaps you have another plan for today?" Luna asked confusedly.
"Not me." Azusa paused. "It's your father. He wants to see you right now." She muttered and made her way to the door.
