Seven ✶ Sweet Escape

It hasn't been two whole weeks since most of the cast left Los Angeles and yet here they were, constantly FaceTiming and spamming each other messages.

The repeated pinging woke up Charlie from his phone. He groans softly, not bothering to get up from his bed. But, no matter the twists and turns he did in his bed, it still played his ringtone. His curly hair gets in the way of his vision as he reaches for his phone on the bedside table.

Unlocking his phone, he was greeted by messages from the group chat he had with his castmates and a separate message from a certain castmate which he ended up opening first.

Charlie rushes to the bathroom as he sees the message. He quickly washed his face, removing the morning dust around his eyes even though there was barely any. After he gets his face clean and dry, he runs his hand through his hair, fixing it to make it look better.

His phone had been ringing since he left his room then he finally answered. The screen shows the Japanese girl already smiling, half her body being seen in the frame as her phone was probably set up on her table. He smiles at her, "Hey, sorry I had to go to the bathroom."

"That's okay! Good morning by the way." Neomi tells him with a smile, now taking her phone from the table and going to her bed. She plops into her bed with her phone in hand. Charlie chuckles as he sees the strands of her hair get into her face as she looks up at the call.

"Good morning beautiful," He says teasingly, she cringes and they both laugh. Despite cringing at what he said, she still felt herself blush. "So what's the trip?" Now remembering the purpose of their call.

Neomi swipes off the full-screen call and opens their group chat. "We're going to New York!" She was expecting his eyes to widen and be excited but she got a confused look from him instead.

"Devyn was actually just talking about if we had a group trip then Sofia thought we should all go to New York since Christmas is big on there." He nods at her explanation.

He thought of what it would be like since the last time he went to that state was when he was 8 years old. Neomi continued about their plans before he spoke, not wanting to cut her off. "So, when's this gonna be?"

"I just wrote this down actually!" She squinted to look over the calendar across her room but as she got up from her bed, she heard footsteps outside her room. Her mother peeking through the door before opening the door slowly.

"What's up hun," Hana leans on the door frame, smiling at the girl. Charlie hears the second voice in the room with her but doesn't do anything.

Neomi then sits on her desk chair and takes her calendar off the wall before setting her phone against the cup she had on the table. "Nothing much mom, just on FaceTime with Charlie," Hana instantly walks to her desk with a teasing look on her face.

"Hey, Hana!" He smiles while waving at her. The older woman lifted her eyebrows at him as a gesture that she'd acknowledged him.

As her mother was about to speak, Neomi nudged her softly and widened her eyes at her. "We miss you Char-char! Especially little miss grumpy pants." She pertains to her daughter before leaving the bedroom. A huff leaves her mouth as she rolls her eyes while Charlie chuckles.

"You really missed me huh?" He teases, dragging out the word 'really' which annoyed her more.

She rolls her eyes but the ends of her lips instantly curl into a smile which he makes sure he doesn't miss. "Whatever, the dates are from December 15th to 20th." Finally returning to their conversation.

He checks his calendar and messages his parents if he can go. Even though he was close to being 20, he still told his parents about his whereabouts. "I'm going if you're going," Charlie tells her, eyes watching her cautiously — waiting for her to respond.

"Must be your lucky day since I'm Hana Yoshida's daughter and she'd already given me permission to go on the trip!"

"I'm glad you're grateful honey!" Hana's voice was muffled and even from afar and closed doors can be heard which led the two to burst into laughter.
