Three ✶ Drunk On Halloween"It's just a party with a few kids mom." Neomi was on the phone with her mother, discussing what she was getting ready for.
Wearing her mother's top and a short black skirt made Hana worry even more about her daughter's whereabouts but she trusted her. She was still stuck at work for 2 weeks before she could visit her daughter in California again.
She was now doing her eye makeup when her mother asked about filming and the party. "So... who else is gonna be with you at the party?" Hana was making herself dinner as she listened to the girl talk.
"The whole cast as far as I know, Sofia and Devyn's coming here first so we could Uber together and we'll just meet up with the rest." Neomi puts away the brush and takes her mascara.
The actress continues to tell stories to her mom. She told her about the episode they last filmed where her character starts to like Charlie's character, Max. Her mother could hear her smile while talking about the boy but chose to not speak about it.
As she continued doing her makeup and speaking to her mom on the phone, her doorbell rang.
"That might be your friends, honey," Hana tells her as she stirs the pasta in the pot. Neomi rushes to answer the door, leaving her phone on the table. As she opens her door, she is greeted by her two friends with the biggest smiles on their faces.
Sofia's hair was straightened, dressed in a tight black outfit, and cat ears while Devyn wore an orange top that had a smiley face on it and a bucket hat. Their eyes widen at how the girl in front of them looked. "You guys look amazing!" She exclaims with a grin.
The girls hug her before walking inside her apartment. "So you ready to party?" Sofia sits on the sofa, her voice being heard through the other side of the phone.
Neomi gets back to her seat while Devyn sits beside Sofia. "I am so ready to get wasted tonight. Oh how much I missed doing shots." The oldest girl says excitedly which catches Hana's attention.
"You kids are drinking tonight?" Her mother's voice startled her, now remembering that the call hadn't ended. Her two friends' eyes widened when they realized who it was on the phone.
Neomi immediately back to her seat at the vanity and forced a smile at her mother who was still waiting for her to respond, eyes not leaving her screen. "She meant like shots as in shots from the camera? Cause we'll be taking loads of pictures tonight!" She knew it was a complete lie and deep down her mom also knew it was the worst lie she had ever come up with in her 18 years of being her daughter.
Hana lets out a laugh. She was never hard on her daughter, she always made sure to never make Neomi feel like she was being controlled. She just wanted her to feel like a kid sometimes due to the girl being a workaholic at a young age. Their 18-year age gap made it easier for their mother-daughter relationship to also feel like a friendship.
"It's fine baby, just have fun and be safe! I'll talk to you later." As soon as the call ended, Neomi turned to face her friends and squealed. "Come on let's go!!"
Taking photos was one of the things she enjoyed since she was young. She was a photogenic child as everyone would say. Now, she was taking photos of her and her friends before they went to leave for the Halloween party.
