On the 19th of March 2018, at approximately 13:20, a 20-year-old Owen Wilkinson revealed his abilities to the residents of Whitecourt and Swan Hills.
Felicia:
I was still outside, curled up in a fetal position and covering my face from all the people who were trampling on me and running over me. I had only been lying there for several seconds and two of my ribs were already broken and my legs became severely bruised. The only thing I thought of was the fact that I couldn't even hear the demon anymore, all I heard were hundreds of people's footsteps.
After a minute or so of being stepped on, the people around me slowed down and an older man asked me if I was alright and helped me up. It was a struggle getting on my feet, so I decided to just sit up straight and look around.
"Is it dead?" I heard someone ask.
A bunch of people began asking loads of questions and babbled between each other.
"What killed it?"
"Is it safe?"
"Oh my God, there are still people trapped in there!"
"Should we help them?"
"What kind of question is that?!"
"How do we know for sure it's dead?"
It's dead? How?
"Felicia! Darryn!" I heard Mom shout from somewhere deeper in the building.
"Mom! Mom, I'm-" I snickered when there was a sharp pain near my ribs.
Something's definitely broken.
"Felicia! Excuse me, sorry, please excuse me, I have to get to my daughter!"
"She's sitting over here, ma'am!" said the older man.
"Oh, thank you! Felicia, are you alright? Oh dear lord, you're bleeding!"
I hadn't noticed my nose was bleeding and my left cheek was scratched.
I nodded.
"What's going on out there?" Mom asked the crowd.
Nobody answered.
Several moments later, somebody said, "We need to go out and help them!"
"And what, just pull them out of that thing's jaws? Look at the fucking size of it!"
The chatter erupted and everyone began asking questions and suggesting what to do.
"Where's Darryn?" Mom asked me.
A look of horror appeared on her face when we both realized that Darryn had still been outside with Owen.
"My son still has to be out there! Felicia, you don't think... Oh no, Darryn... Where's Darryn?!"
"Where are the paramedics?! We have injured people here!" shouted the older man.
During the next hour, people were being helped and carried to the medical stations in the shelter, and some of the people went outside to try and open the jaws of the beast that attacked us.
Owen:
"Darryn?!" I shouted, having finally managed to get on my feet.
"Owen, is- The fuck? Is that you? I swear your eyes are glowing. Owen?"
"Yeah. It's me."
A few people seemed to have looked over at me and also said that my eyes were luminous.
One person said, "Your eyes really are! You're... what?"
More people began reacting and acknowledging my eyes.
A few people began claiming that they saw a flash of lightning shoot out of me just as the demon died.
"Did you do that? Did you... did you kill this thing? How?" someone asked
"Owen? What's going on?" asked Darryn.
When the commotion died down, I said, "Yes. I can't believe I am saying this, but I did it."
A lot of questions came up and I can sum them all up with this:
What am I?
How did I do that?
Is everyone in the shelter safe?
Why are my eyes glowing?
Did I actually shoot lightning from my body?
That's pretty much all they asked me and I tried answering their questions as best I could for the time until those outside finally managed to get the jaws open.
Everyone got out or was helped out. We all got out and everyone was asking everyone if they were alright. Except for Darryn. He just came over to me and asked, "Did you genuinely do that? You killed this thing?"
"He what?" asked one of the nearby people who helped open the jaws.
All I can say is the questions did not stop.
I kept trying to push through the crowd to find my mother, and they all wanted answers.
Most of the people were in denial, saying that the demon must have hit its head or something, but the people that believed me kept arguing that there was an actual fried hole piercing through the demon's skull.
Everyone stopped caring about what the demon was or where it came from. All the focus ended up on me, it was sort of overwhelming. I lost track of Darryn in the crowd.
The rest of the day is a blur, but it was mostly just me trying to explain and answer people's questions.
Eventually, I found my mother and she basically asked me a bunch of similar questions.
I found out that Felicia was injured and her mother and Darryn were with her in the shelter.
Most of the people for the remainder of the day were still in denial about what I did.
