Nolan:

The police eventually arrived at the school, along with an ambulance, and my mother.

My mother was the first to show up, and when she looked at me, all she said was, "Oh my God," and held a hand over her mouth. She didn't even see my arm or teeth yet. Only the blood in my hair and my eyes.

The police and paramedics showed up next. One of the two paramedics asked, "Are you hurt? How do you feel?"

One of the officers asked my teachers, "What happened? He's covered in blood."

I rhetorically asked, "How do I even explain this?" and I took out my arm from under the towel I covered myself up with.

Everyone just stared at me, and I could legitimately feel what everyone around me felt: Shock, confusion, and fear.

I couldn't tell which person felt what, it was all just a mix of emotions radiating from everyone. Their feelings were sent out like signals, and I was the receiver.

"You, um..." began one of the teachers, "You also need to take a look in the bathroom. It's... it's blood everywhere, and... how do I even say this... Nolan's heart is lying in one of the sinks."

"His... excuse me?" said one of the paramedics.

All the while, my mother just stared at me, hand-over-mouth.

"Nolan, are you okay with telling us what happened? How did you end up like this? What happened to you?" asked one of the paramedics.

I nodded.

I told them about how I was in class when the bell rang, and I packed my stuff and headed to the bathroom to try and fix my old shoes. I heard a loud noise, sort of sounding like paper tearing combined with a high-pitched "pew", and I stood up to investigate. On the bathroom wall was a large triangular shape that looked like a portal or something, and a little creature came out of it which attacked me when I turned to run. During the attack, I lost my arm and heart and fell into the portal. I woke up submerged in a liquid and swam until I found a way out. I described to them what I saw, and when I saw the face in the distance, it began speaking-

In the middle of my story, I started crying. I couldn't go any further, even though I tried. I wanted to tell them everything, I wanted them to know and understand, but I just cried.

I can't even describe what I felt, it just felt overwhelming.

What happened to me? Where did I go? What did I really see? Why am I like this? Why didn't I die?

"It's okay, son, you can continue later. Let's get you clothed and safe," said the officer.

No no no no no, I can't go home. Not again. Not like this.

I wanted to stand up and tell him, "No, I'm not going back home," but I just kept crying like a baby.

"Does he have a father?" the officer asked my mother.

Mother nodded her head and said, "I- I called him... on the way here. He's at work, he... said he can't come."

No, he just doesn't want to bother being seen in a public place other than at work or the liquor store.

"Come, let's get some clothes on you, son."

I forced back the snickering and was about to try refusing again, until I heard a voice coming from all around me. The same thundering voice of the demon that spoke to me.

"Let them see you break down further. Let them see you lose yourself. You hate when people see you when you're vulnerable. We both know that. You can't stand it. Yet here you are, crying to them like the child you are!"
