Peter walked along the edges of the platforms at King Cross station. His grandmother had kissed him for a long time before letting him enter the building with his trolley loaded with his suitcases. He continued his way until he reached the wall between track 10 and track 9. Then, after taking a look around to check that no Muggles were hanging around, he pushed his cart at full speed towards the wall. However, Pettigrew was distracted by the thought of seeing his best friends again, and he ran into a perfectly ordinary wall.

It was in this moment of perfect solitude for Peter that laughter resounded throughout the station: Sirius Black, who was behind him, was laughing heartily at the Marauder, holding his stomach and with tears in his eyes.

- It's not funny, Padfoot, he said, rubbing his sore behind from his fall. The young man with black hair finally recovered from his laughter, and they both ended up heading towards way 9 3/4, the real one this time.

Arriving on the platform, they saw Remus and James waiting for them, chatting. They had both changed a lot, especially James who had started to catch up with Remus. The werewolf, for his part, had gained a few scars and a badge was proudly hung on his uniform. When he saw Sirius and Peter, he gave them a big smile that seemed to light up the entire station. Sirius looked at him, amazed and lost in his contemplation, he stared at him a little too long. When he realized this, he blushed and immediately looked away. Fortunately no one noticed it, but that didn't stop him from inwardly reproaching himself for his action.

James, for his part, was looking for Lily and realizing that she was not on the platform, he hurried his friends to get on the train, claiming that it was cold at the beginning of the year and that all the cars were going to be full. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure that caught his eye, which was surprising knowing that normally only his friends and Lily usually had this effect on him. This person happened to be a pale-skinned, dark-haired boy, chatting with Sirius' parents: Regulus Black. He didn't pay any more attention, preferring to tease Remus about his new promotion.

After going around the train under the pretext of finding a free carriage, he chanced upon Lily in the corridor. The young Potter knelt down and began to recite a long poem to her about his love for her and how he would make her so happy, which he had written during the summer. When he finished his tirade he realized that she had disappeared and that he was talking to a wall. He sighed and found his friends in a cabin, laughing because of a joke Peter made about goblins.

They had taken possession of a carriage, Sirius lying on the seat with his head on Remus' knees and Peter on the other side. The train left London and wandered through the British countryside. They were telling each other about their vacation, and after a while the werewolf left to meet the other prefects. On the way, he saw with joy and without any surprise Lily his partner prefect. He thought of James who, if he had known, would not have teased him so much and would even have envied him. She told him about her meeting with James in the hallway and Remus wrote it down in the back of his mind in order to annoy the poor lover. They returned with the other prefects and began the meeting at the start of the year.

When he showed up, he found his friends fighting over an upcoming prank. James and Sirius wanted to dye the hair of all the teachers while Peter wanted to limit it to two or three and only the one that they hate. As soon as he entered, they tried to put him on their side, knowing that whoever had him on their side would win the fight because Remus is alway right.

During the rest of the trip, they talked about other pranks or bickered as usual. They ended up putting on their uniforms, while continuing to chat or send teasing spells to each other. When they reached Hogwarts after long hours of traveling, they felt more alive than ever with lots of ideas on their minds. This fifth year in the magic school promised to be more than interesting.
