I always dreamed of a perfect wedding for myself but it wouldn't happen to me, my father promised me to the mafia boss of a rival family just for the affairs of our own.
I didn't want to mess with the reputation of the family so I agreed to this arranged marriage with the most cruel man of the mafia world.
I walked down the aisle of the church at the arm of my father to the altar, where my soon-to-be husband was waiting for me.
He puts up the veil out of my face as soon as my father gives my hand to my future husband and finally sees for the first time the man I'm supposed to marry.
He dominates me by his size and muscular figure. His face is stoic and I cannot read his real feelings at the moment.
My mind is screaming for help during the ceremony but my mouth can't say a word except saying firmly "I do" during the exchange of vows.
The ceremony ends and the wedding party starts at my now-husband's place with our two families.
The party lasts for most of the night and my husband remains stoic all night long not saying a word to me and not allowing me to speak with the guests, I am just able to sit or stand next to him in silence when we're not dancing to please our families.
The party finally gets to an end and my husband finally decides to open up and give me his rules to follow under his roof: in a few words I have to be a perfect housewife and I'll be treated as a queen.
Years go by with a "perfect" wedding, we got to know each other a little better even if it's not perfect but the wedding is still up thanks to the arrangement that goes on. I'm a good housewife by choice but only for the sake of this wedding.
We still haven't any children, for him it's not safe to have some because they can be easy targets for the rival families, an argument in which I agree. I don't want my children to be killed for things that their father does.
