A series of beeps woke up Y/n, his eyes fluttered as he rose from his bed. He sat on the edge of his bed, dragging his blanket to the cold metallic floor. Y/n stared at the wall as he rubs his temple, wondering why he had a headache as soon as he woke up. He looked towards the end table and raised an arm towards the alarm. The beeps stopped, he stood up and went to the wardrobe across his bed. He sighs as he grabs the suit and prepares to wash up for the day.
Y/n walked through the hallways as it slowly shifted from porcelain white into a burlywood colour. The door opens a to large room filled with monitors, the smell of stress and worn-out clipboard fills the air. "This feels nostalgic," Y/n thought as he walked towards the long table towards the middle of the room "I wonder why." Y/n sat down on one of the chairs waiting for his shift to begin. He looked towards his left arm, a device that looked similar to that of a wrist brace was attached. 9:30 AM, he still had half an hour before his shift started, maybe he could take a short nap before it starts... maybe.
The door opened revealing a man with messy black hair and a relaxed expression. He either looked too relaxed or lazy in general. His grin doesn't help it either, "Oh, someone is here already," he said as he approached Y/n's sleepy body "Names Roy, and it looks like we'll be working together." Too tired to respond Y/n nodded and laid his head back on the table, he could feel the awkward gaze of his coworker.
Y/n could hear that another person had walked in, he raised his head once more to see a woman with long, curled purple hair. He looked at the time on his codex to see that it was 9:59 AM. Tick goes the minute and the alarms sound from the speakers indicating that the shift has started.
Roy: and that's why I don't know why I prefer- oh hey Maene look he woke up.
Maene: Oh hello there! My name is Maene! What's yours?
Y/n: Y/n...
Maene: Well Y/n I hope we can be great coworkers!
Y/n: Me too...
Y/n still felt tired yet oddly sad... Almost as if he had gone through this thousands of times before. His saving grace was that his codex rang, signalling The Manager assigned him with an abnormality. He said his farewells to cheery coworkers.
The containment door opened revealing a floating skull with a cross through it, a choir can be heard yet not seen. The moment Y/n stepped through the door, the skull began crying. The light in the room began to dim as if the abnormality was the one illuminating the room. Y/n was confused, what was he supposed to do? The feeling that this never happened and this isn't supposed to happen filled him to the brim.
Y/n slowly began to ask the skull a few questions. It never replied, it kept crying and singing its choir. Tears had already filled the room to Y/n's ankles, the door was still closed shut. "This can't be how I die," Y/n thought as he attempted to pry the door open, "This never happened with One Sin before."
Tears started to reach Y/n's knees, he started to scream anywhere he could. Deep down he knew The Manager was watching.
Manager's POV
I stared in shock as the cell slowly began to fill with tears. I could feel the shocked expression from the AI beside me, but one question still went around my mind. How did he know what the abnormality's name was in the first place? I haven't even used any of the positive enkephalins yet he said "One Sin".
I looked towards the blue-haired AI and asked "What do I do?"
Angela: I'm already attempting to open the door manager.
Manager: Then what's taking so long?
Angela: I don't know... It's as if something is blocking my access to it.
