Easier said than done

Ukraine's POV:

1 hour 31 minutes and 37 seconds.

That is how long it's been since dad, or Soviet, had said those words.

The time spent between then and now mattered little to anyone else, but to us it felt like the longer we waited the heavier the weight on are backs got. To which lead us all here. Sitting around the coffee table, watching the old dusty book, with tension so thick it was like we all were in a spiders web with how it held everyone tightly, making it almost impossible to breathe or move.

This was one of those moments where it was easier said than done. Saying that we were going to call America, convince him into meeting up, explain are situation, and saying that he actually believes us and dose not try to rat on us to the UN and/or any of the other countries, get him to agree into having us meet with Alaska. And that's if he's alive!

So yes, definitely easier said than done.

"Sooooo..... um how are we going to go about this again?" East said while uncurling himself from the ball like state he was in previously on the couch. West Germany, or just Germany now I guess, seemed to also agree with his twin; I mean I do too but that's not the point.

"Well I don't suppose anyone here is really close to America ?"

"Of course not Vater, that would be too easy. Most of us were at war agenst him, or were mortal enemies til death. And even the ones here who don't or didn't have a bad relationship with him don't talk with him enough for it to not sound suspicious to all of a sudden want to schedule a non-work related meeting." Third said after he finally made his way out of the kitchen to sit next to Dad.

He is right through, America would be very surprised and suspicious if we suddenly tried to schedule a meeting with him. Even if we did call saying it was for work it wouldn't solve any of our problems and actually add more. But now what?

"We could kidnap him?" Russia said while playing with a loose string on his sleeve.

"Yes cause you would totally be down to keep the secret that dead countries can come back alive and be willing to tell information on a long lost family member to a group of people who had just kidnapped you." Bel said while rolling her eyes, looking away fast enough though that she avoided Russias harsh glare he shot at her a moment later.

"What about stalk-"

"If you suggest something that requires us to break the law I with strangle you."

So nothing illegal, well that takes all of my ideas off the table.

"We could just call him and tell him the truth?"

"Yah hate to break it to you but we're not in some fairytale land where we magically get everything to work out the way we want it." I said, being sarcastic (mostly) with my words.

"But what other options do we truly have here? If we arnt doing anything illegal then the only other option is to get an actual meeting set up with him." Germany said as he fixed his glasses.

Third person pov:

Another hour had passed since everyone reluctantly agreed that the 'business meeting plan' was the best thing that they could come up with the wasn't illegal. In that time they decided that they all probably needed a break from the unusual situation. Reich, USSR, and GE went back to cleaning the downstairs; while Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia when back into the room that started this whole thing. The German twins decided to read on the couch together, as the two of them were in this sibling 'book club'.
