"Your majesty he's sure to come back soon." Mila suggested zipping my dress. "It's been more than five years. He's probably found another woman." I say combing my black hair. She stands next to me, her eyes a golden brown, her face pale and her dress old and brown but it was the original colour of the dress luckily. "But I heard the king and queen say they had been receiving letters from his majesty." she informed me. "Well whatever it is, he would have been back by now. Seems he's enjoying his trip." I shut down her idea of my husband ever returning. He'd left five years ago on a trip, a mission. The point of the mission was to infiltrate and get information on the kingdom of Blavik. He left a day after our wedding. Our marriage was an arranged one. We never knew one another, I'm surely certain he does not even know my name. He is Prince Ikaris of the kingdom of Novák. A cold prince they say. Ice cold. It was rumored his father was the Siren King
Alfaro as he look much alike to him. I can't remember how he looks, it had been a long time since I'd seen him.
5 years and 2 months. Everyone's lost hope on his returnal but these letters that Mila speaks of could be true. No, no, no. It can't be true. There are so many possibilities where the letters could come from. I shouldn't worry myself with matters like this but if there's a possibility he's alive, I shall ask for a divorce from him since we do not love another. He shall agree, hopefully. I opened the doors of my chambers and left with Mila. We went downstairs for breakfast. Ernest sat at the table with his father and mother, Queen Yvonne and King Ronan. Highly respected people in the kingdom. I've never really had a full on conversation with the king but her majesty queen Yvonne was a kind soul. She cared for me like her own daughter. "Good morning your majesties." I greeted and gave a small bow along with Mila.
I sat at the table as I was served with food. Breakfast with the family was not something that I would die for. I'd rather be painting, reading or out of the palace but I am instead forced to be cooped up in this palace and be a wife to a man that's most likely dead.
I ate my food quietly. I was not one to talk a lot. As soon as breakfast was over, I made my way back to my chambers.

I looked at the city from my window. "It's beautiful isn't it?" Ernest asked. I nodded. "We're having a feast tonight, will you be there? ." he asked me. I turned around facing him. His honey brown eyes seemingly begging me. "I'll get you a gift." he tried to persuade me. "If it's my freedom, I'll accept it." I said. He chuckled. "Only my brother can offer you that but I can offer you my company during the feast. Delilah isn't coming. Her parents have forbidden her." he answered.

"I don't want anything from you Ernest, you've been a friend to me in these lonely years. Delilah is very lucky to have you." I smiled. He nodded. There was a silence between us until I broke it with a question pondering on my "Is it true?" I asked. He looked at me dumbfounded. "Is it true that there's a chance your brother might be alive? That he's been sending letters to your parents?" I asked carefully. He looked reluctant to answer me. "Tell me the truth, if our friendship means anything to you. You wouldn't want to witness your friend suffering right? Please." I begged.

He sighed. "From my knowledge, he seems to be alive and might return soon. When he will be back cannot be determined as of now." he answered.
I nodded. So he is alive and did not bother to send me a letter. "Soon?" I repeated. He nodded. "Thank you." I finally said. "Father and mother have the letters and refuse to give them to anyone. It's as if they're hiding a secret." he added. "Whatever it is, you brother shall answer when comes back. I shall not be attending the feast but enjoy it." I added, with that he left the room. What secret could the king and queen be hiding? I had to find out what they were hiding
