Chapter 2: A mentor is here!

Izuku was sitting in one of the waiting rooms having just visited recovery girl, he was still thinking about it, he really didn't want to hurt Mina but he felt deep down inside there was a proper reason other than because it was a tournament fight. His train of thought of stopped by the door opening and a certain blonde haired, yellow suit wearing man the pro hero All Might in his non buff form "Young Midoriya sorry for coming in like this" he said before closing the door and sitting down opposite Izuku as he continued "That was a good battle although... one thing has me curious. The attack on the U.S.J. you and Todoroki fought with such power yet, with your battle with young Ashido you seemed to not use your quirk as much, do you, perhaps like this young girl?"

Izuku grew deep red, how could All Might say such a thing, but was he right? Izuku slowly responded "Well I course I like Ashido, she's a good friend but yes I didn't use my quirk as much cause I didn't want to hurt her.. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I injured her" All Might nodded "So you didn't want to hurt a friend and fellow hero because it was unnecessary in the situation though you'll use more of your power to help those in need in defending them against villains? Young Midoriya I am indeed proud to have made you my successor for one for all, just be sure to do what you can to harness it and control your body which I know you will and as always, plus ultra!" All Might chuckled but didn't yell due to being in such a small room, he then gave a thumbs up and left but a couple of seconds later the door once again opened.

Izuku was about to call out for All Might when he saw it wasn't All Might but rather it was Mina, Izuku then felt panic on the inside. Had she accidentally heard what was said? Was she here to confront him? "Hey there Midoriya, was that a friend of yours?" She asked to which Izuku nodded "Y-Yes he was, though I thought you were watching the quarter finals Ashido?" Mina then sat down in the same seat All Might previously sat in "They called a break for now plus... I have a bone to pick with you!" Izuku froze, maybe she had heard and was going to bombard him with all sorts of questions "I was so caught up in the moment of actually fighting you that it slipped my mind that your quirk does damage to you and you didn't say anything after our fight and I'm sorry for not asking sooner and I hope you're ok sorry sorry sorry!" Mina pleaded as she put her hands together in front of her face and bowed her head multiple times.

Mina expected Izuku to be mad at her but when she looked past her hands she was surprised to see Izuku smile "Ashido it's ok, besides I'm all better though I do have another match against Bakugo so that will probably go crazy since we know how he fights... but how are you though? Y-You're not hurt are you Ashido? If you a-are hurt then I'm the one who's sorry!" He pleaded back now the one bowing apologetically though now it was Mina's turn to blush, her cheeks turning a shade of lilac, she knew people cared for her and knew Izuku was a caring friend but something felt a little different. She shook her head "No I'm fine Midoriya and it seems like we're both fine, so for now there's not much to worry about huh?" Mina said with a energetic smile as Izuku nodded. The 2 soon left the waiting room to watch the other fights until it was time for Izuku's match with Bakugo, the fight lasted a couple of minutes with Izuku having to use more of his quirk and further injuring himself as Bakugo was the victor and eventual winner of the tournament.

Izuku was then in a recovery room having been visited by a few other classmates though through the halls Mina was rushing even though she didn't want to seem concerned on the outside she was, she knew she was growing more fond of Izuku with each passing day and each passing talk and she wasn't about to let this friendship stop like this. She got to the room he was in and opened it slowly and was relieved to see he was awake, Izuku turned his head to face her with a smile on his face "Oh hey Ashido, some of the others visited before, recovery girl healed me enough so I could walk but to still rest for a few minutes" Mina could slowly feel tears forming, why she didn't know but she quickly stopped them to keep Izuku happy and not concerned as she pulled up a chair alongside his bed "I'm glad you're feeling better Midoriya.. watching you fight like that yes it was inspiring but still.. you're healed but you still got hurt" she said softly feeling her emotions get the better of her.
