As she entered her dorm room she quickly stripped her clothes until she was completely naked and threw the clothes on her bed. At first she had tought she would always be embarassed about needing to remove her clothes here. But surprisingly after a while being naked just felt normal. However, she would most likely still be embarassed if she was seen by anyone outside of this room.
Right now, Ruby was the only other person in the room with her. The naked boy smiled and waved at her. Then he got up from his sitting position on the bed and approached her with a nervous look.
''Hey, um, so Robin? What do you think about Pokémon Contest? Oh...right, you're a Faller you might not even know about them.'' Ruby lightly knock on his head with his knuckle to chastise his forgetfulness.
''No, I think I know of them. They're basically beauty pageants for Pokémon rights? With a second round where two trainers fights while trying to look good at the same time?'' If she remembered what little she knew of the Pokémon games. The battle portion was not present there. So it might really be just a beauty pageant, which would make it very boring in Robin's opinion.
But Ruby nodded excitedly. ''Yeah Contest battles are so cool! They allow Pokémon that are considered 'too weak' in competetive battling to really shine! Since strenght is not the sole deciding factor any Pokémon can win as long as they can outsmart and outshine their opponent. I love them!''
Robin smiled at his enthusiasm. But the boy might have assumed she was mocking him because he looked down dejected. ''But...my father think I shouldn't waste my time on them. He would rather I focus on 'actual Pokémon battles.' But to me Contests are just so much more interesting! He just doesn't get it. My sister is not as judgemental as dad about it, but she doesn't really like Contests either. She prefer battles where Pokémon go all out and destroy everything in their path.''
''I see, I'm sorry about that Ruby. But why are you telling me all about this?'' Robin asked a bit confused on where this was going.
Ruby slapped his forehead. ''Oh right, I kind of went on a random rant there, didn't I? Well, you see I have tickets to watch a Pokémon Contest that's happening in the city today. I wanted to go with sis, but she really was not interest on going. So I'm kind of stuck on going alone. But then I tought maybe you would be interested to go with me?''
He looked back at Robin with sparkling eyes, making the girl blushed. ''I-is this a date?''
At that Ruby started laughing loudly, Robin didn't know whether to be confused or offended. ''Sorry for laughing. But I'm like super gay, Robin. This is just a hangout between friends.''
''Oh right, I think Saphire mentioned that. I kind of forgot with how overwhelming that whole meeting was.'' Ruby chuckled in response.
''Yeah, Saphire has that effect on people. So are you interested to go?'' Robin stopped to think about it. In the show, Contest kind of felt like fillers to her. Something the writers included so the female companions could have a time to shine. But maybe seeing it for real would feel different. After all Contests had a lot of things she liked, cute Pokémon, exciting battles and girls dressing up in cute dresses and skirts. And it wasn't like she had anything else planned for the day anyway.
Robin nodded with a small smile. ''Sure, I'll go with you!''
Ruby pumped his fist in the air. ''Alright! I really didn't want to go on my own. I would kind of feel like a loser being out ther alone in the crowd.''
Robin was about to put back her school uniform. But then realised she would probably attract unwanted attention dressing up in a uniform in the middle of a contest. So instead she went for her suitcase. She had yet to open it since she has had no need for clothes other than her school uniform in the last week.
