Louis' cane is hidden underneath the table. He mutters some curse words under his breath. He doesn't even want to be here, stupid Liam...

Liam was very strong minded about this. He thinks that Louis needs to get out there and try to date.

Louis kept refusing, partly because he is happy with his life, because he really is. He has an amazing family, friends that always have his back, and a job that he has always dreamed of doing. He doesn't need a partner in his life.

But Liam has a sixth sense when it comes to him. He always notices it when Louis falls silent when he and Zayn are saying things like "I love you" or when they kiss. Even though Louis loves Zayn and Liam together, he can't help but feel a bit lonely in the love department sometimes.

But the thruth is, he is scared. He has been blind his whole life. His whole life, people wanted to be his friend or to be in a relationship with him when they thought he was a normal lad, but when they noticed that he doesn't have an eyesight, they bolted.

Louis is grateful for the people that he does have, because he knows that they truly love him for who he is, but he has to admit that the things that happened in the past did hurt him and made his outlook on things a bit different.

Liam's outlook, however, clearly hasn't changed. His friend insisted that blind dating would be an amazing idea.

Louis had fallen silent when Liam suggested the idea, because well...

Soon enough, Liam also caught on to the ironic words in the name, and he clamped a hand over his mouth and apologized and said that he hadn't thought of it like that.

Louis simply laughed at the irony, but still refused to go. This was one of the most stupid ideas Liam had come up with.

At least with online dating, Louis can easily text with people before their first date and without them finding out he is blind. Or when Liam set him up with some close friends, he knows that the friends will be nice at least. But this...

He will be meeting up with strangers and a lot of strangers as well and in a rapid pace. He has to brace himself for what is about to come, he states.

Suddenly he feels a hand on his shoulder and he jumps in his seat. He turns around, which isn't really useful because he can't see the person anyway, but it feels like the polite thing to do

"Here is your blindfold, sir." Someone that apparently works at the place tells him softly, laying the silk scarf in his hand.

It's almost ironic to Louis that he gets a blind fold when he is already blind. But it's a good thing that they're all wearing it, because Louis prefers to not wear sunglasses inside, but when meeting new people he does prefer to do so so they don't immediately recognize that he doesn't have eyesight.

The employee explains that he is located in a cube and that every five minutes someone will enter the cube so they can meet and talk and then they'll switch rooms. Since Louis had made the request if he could stay in one place, he didn't have to do the switching, but the people he was meeting would do so.

He would meet 10 dates that evening, he was told, and at the end of the night, he could choose if he wanted someone's number or not. Then they could continue talking through text, until actually seeing what the other looked like.

It felt a bit romantic to Louis that they won't know what the other looks like until they actually know what their personality is like. Now, Louis doesn't really go for looks of course, but it does put his mind at ease that he will have some time to show his personality - because he admits that he has a big one - before telling them about his disability.
