To say that Louis is devastated after Harry leaves, would be an understatement and to make matters worse, a whole week has passed and Harry hasn't reached out to him.
Liam watched with sad eyes as Louis moped around and wrote a bunch of sad break up songs. It's ironic, since they were never even together.
But Louis was so attached to that clumsy, lovely man that it feels like he has lost a major part of him. He misses talking to him, teasing him, kissing him...
He looks pathetic is the bottom line of it all.
And after a week with no progress whatsoever, Liam steps up. He grabs Louis by his shoulders. "Louis, this has to stop." He says with a strict voice. "It's not healthy to keep going this way. I think it's a good idea if you take some time off work and go and see your family in Doncaster. Just to leave for a bit."
Louis considers his best friend's words for a second, biting his lips as he contemplates the suggestion.
"It will do you good, trust me." Liam murmurs. "Zayn actually suggested it to me and we have both known you for ages and we think this is best, Lou. Seeing your mom and siblings always helps you."
Louis deep down knows that Liam is right. He's just not ready to hear his mom and sister's sad voice replying to him after he tells them about a once again horrible dating experience.
"And keep writing." Liam tells Louis, gripping his shoulders a bit tighter. "Get everything off your chest. It has always helped you in the past."
Louis nods. "You're right, Liam. I'll tell my job that I'm going to take Friday until Monday off to keep writing and to get some rest."
He can hear Liam's smile in his voice when we says, "good. I'm proud of you."
Louis hugs the taller man closely to his chest and thanks whatever higher power is up there that he has such great friends.
And soon enough, he is on the train on his way to Doncaster, his home town. He spends his time writing songs and pouring all those emotions out, just like Liam instructed him. After an hour and a half of sitting on the train, he has finished the song he has been working on and he emails it to his boss, hoping that he will approve.
When the train comes to a stop, he grabs his things and walks out on the platform and about five seconds later he can feel a body flinging itself around him. He smiles brightly, knowing by the type of hug and the size of the person that it's his sister, Lottie. Soon after, more bodies engulf in him a hug and he can feel warmth filling his chest. Liam is right, this is exactly what he needed.
"Hi, my lovelies." Louis hums, grinning wide from ear 'til ear. "How are you all?"
And soon enough, Phoebe tells him about her experience at school and Lottie tells him about her part time job as a make-up artist. Daisy is holding one of his hands, leading him to the car. In the other hand, he holds his cane.
After a short drive from the train station, he's back at his childhood home, and at the door opening Fizzy and the younger twins greet him with another hug. He's led to the kitchen table and there they catch up about everything.
Louis really missed this. A little bit of hurt that appeared in his chest after his fight with Harry, has lifted. He can feel the love from his family and he's distracted with all their great stories and it makes everything back in London disappear, even if it's just for a second.
Soon enough, it's time for almost all his siblings to go to bed or to go home. Only Lottie and his mom stay with him at the kitchen table and they all have a cuppa before they will follow the rest of the family to bed.
