| Jailen |
Niall snorted, slipping his arm from around my waist as I rolled my lips into my mouth to keep from laughing, "I don't want to dance, Harry."
There was a brief pause between us and Harry licked his lips, sighing heavily. I didn't have time to think before he reached out and grabbed my wrist. He pulled me away from Niall and out of my little corner that had protected me the whole night.
He had no regard of the people he bumped into while trying to get us to the middle of the room where the dance floor resided, which unfortunately made people turn their attention to us.
"Harry-"
"Keep up, Jailen," He said back, making a point to yank me a bit harder, causing me to bump into a few people.
Once we reached the middle of the room, he moved quickly. He grabbed my hand and laced his fingers with mine before pulling me firmly against him, his arm around my waist, his hand sprawled against my lower back and keeping me from moving unless it was to follow his lead. A few other people were dancing around us and I wanted the curse whoever decided to change the music.
Drink Before the War by Sinead O'Connor began to play over the speakers and I couldn't help but roll my eyes when Harry began to sway us from side to side.
I was aware of the stares we were getting from the people standing around, undoubtedly because of Harry's unruly way of getting me to the dance floor and it did nothing but annoy me even more.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Harry broke the silence between us, his voice merely above a whisper but loud enough that I could hear him.
I didn't say anything as I lifted my eyes to glare at him. I kept my lips pursed, trying my best to hide the chill that slid up my spine when he gently glided his fingers along my lower back.
"Answer me, sweetie. You know I won't hesitate to cause a scene," He was breathing heavily, obviously trying his hardest to control his anger as he moved us around the dancefloor slowly.
"I'm having fun," I responded curtly.
"By flirting with my friends?" He quickly followed up, chuckling humorlessly.
I blinked, "What does it matter to you?"
He rotated us so that we moved in a circle, "You're mine."
"And you're Peyton's," I snapped, smirking when he flinched, anger flashing over his features. My smile widened, "And I'm not yours, by the way. I'm single, and can fuck and flirt with whomever I chose to."
"Yeah?" He tilted his chin up.
"Yep."
"Hm," He narrowed his eyes and without another breath, lifted my arm and spun me around so quickly, I stumbled. I nearly fell on my face but he was quicker, grabbing my waist and roughly pulling me back against him, "Careful, clumsy little girl."
I was breathless, my hands coming out to grip his suit jacket in annoyance because as much as I hated to admit it, I didn't know what he was going to do next.
"Don't think I won't put a bullet through the head of anyone you flirt with," He whispered to me, his fingers digging into my waist, the slight pain sending a shock directly to my clit.
"You won't kill your friends," I shrugged, trying my best to appear unphased even though I was terrified of him at the moment but the fear was only making the throbbing between my legs unbearable.
He leaned in and my body stiffened as he pressed his lips to my ear, "I won't," His hand slid lower, resting on my ass, "Doesn't mean I can't take my anger out on the next person you fucking look at, sweetie."
I pulled away as much as I could, looking up at him in shock, "You're crazy," I whispered, shaking my head in disbelief.
"About you," He responded before I could even finish my sentence and I rolled my eyes, "I think you like testing me, Jai."
"Testing you?" I snorted, tearing my eyes away from him and looking around the room. I didn't stare at anyone long enough to notice if they were staring at us or not, but one person was. I smiled, "I think your girlfriend's jealous," then I looked back up at him, "Seems like y'all are perfect for each other."
He tightened his arm around my waist, nearly cutting off my breathing, and squeezed my hand, "Stop that."
I giggled, "Stop what? Is she not your girlfriend?"
I held my breath as his hand traveled up my back until he reached the back of my neck. I leaned my head forward, resting against his chest, his hand tightly around my neck as he continued to sway us from side to side.
"No." His response was short and curt.
I hummed, "Does she know that?" A silence that seemed to go on forever but it confirmed my thoughts, "Of course, she doesn't." I whispered, lifting my head but his hand remained in place. Harry opened his mouth but I cut him off, "You could've called."
He let go of my hand and dropped his hand to my waist. I let my hands fall to my sides, a frown forming on my face.
"I was busy," was his shitty response.
"With Peyton, huh?" I went to push away from him but he tightened his hold on me, "Let me go." I whispered.
"I'm not done talking to you," Harry said, licking his lips and adjusting himself so that he was towering over me and shielding me from most of the eyes that were watching, "I couldn't call."
"Bullshit."
"You think?"
"I know."
"You're wrong," his eyes narrowed slightly.
"You've given no reason to believe otherwise," I mumbled.
The corners of his lips lifted, "You should just take my word for it."
I laughed. I laughed way louder than I should've because it wasn't funny at all, "You've got some nerve, Harry."
The song was coming to an end and everyone was returning to whatever they were doing before. From the corner of my eye, I could see Peyton pushing her way through the crowd and I pointed, "Your girlfriend is coming over. Might wanna tend to that, she doesn't look pleased."
He didn't look, he didn't bother fighting me as I pulled away from him. His hands dropped to his sides and he frowned.
I couldn't help my smile as I looked at Peyton, who just glared in response before I walked away, finding my way back towards Niall and Zayn.
