you walk slowly across the balcony, getting away from the loud party that was inside

you walk closer to the edge, getting a better view of the stars that scattered across the sky

it was quite cold, but you honestly liked the cool breeze

it added to the atmosphere

you light your cigarette, staring at the smoke you blew out as it was blown away

"why you out here?" a man's voice spoke from behind you, making you drop your cigarette

"fuck." you look at the cigarette as it falls off the balcony

"you made me drop my cigarette you prick" you turn around, facing the man

"calm down, you've only just met me" he laughed, standing beside you

"I could say the same for you. why do you care if I'm out here?" you raise your eyes before lighting another cigarette

"normally I'm the one that comes out here" he replied, staring at the stars

he was quite handsome

"you go to party's often?" you speak, a smirk on your face

"is that so hard to believe?" he laughed in return

"maybe" you responded

"I'm y/n" you smile, putting your hand out for the stranger to shake.

"james" he retorted, shaking your hand and using the other to take the cigarette from your mouth, taking it for himself

you roll your eyes, taken aback by the action

"i'll suppose I'll let you have it. only because your handsome." you stated
