Chapter twenty-four
Missing Memories
Tw: panic attackEverything was gone.
The house was completely empty and everything was gone.
Tilly stood in the once living room, emotionless. She was having such a good day and now it was completely ruined.
She didn't know what to feel as she walked around slowly, desperately trying to search for a reminder that this was once her home.
"What the fuck," Conrad whispered in anger as his voice broke.
Tilly looked up at her older brother and sucked in a harsh breath. She realized she had been holding it the last few minutes so finally inhaling again made her chest ache.
Tw
Tilly sucked in another breath to try and soothe the ache but it just seemed to make it worse. She slowly backed away from everyone, hoping not to bother them with her loud breaths.
Tilly backed herself into the wall as she tried to breathe but no air seemed to be filling her lungs and what was in her stomach refused to come out.
She brought a hand to her chest and grasped on to her shirt with a tight fist. Tilly leaned against the wall for support as she felt tears spring in her eyes.
She looked around and wanted so desperately for someone to notice what was happening. She wanted to say something but no words were being formed.
Suddenly Taylor turned around and gasped at the sight of the girl. "Tilly! What is happening?" She rushed over and her words made everyone turn around and stare in shock at the sight of the young girl.
Tilly tried to tell her that she couldn't breathe and her chest was painfully constricted and she couldn't stop shaking, but nothing came out.
Once Taylor rested a gentle hand against her face, did Tilly finally find the strength to speak. "I can't breathe," she struggled to whisper before her knees buckled and she was lowered to the ground by Taylor.
"Oh my god!" Belly yelled out in fear as Tilly's body violently shook. "What do we do?!"
Conrad stared at the sight of his younger sister with a heavy heart. How could he not have seen that she had been struggling.
The boy kneeled beside his sister and pulled her body into his, hugging her tightly to his chest. "It's okay, it's okay," Conrad was so disappointed in himself. He should've payed closer attention to Tilly and not focus on his own issues. He was so stupid.
Taylor held Tilly's hand as they stared at each other with wide eyes, not understanding what was happening. "Should we call an ambulance?" She asked the eldest Fisher sibling.
Conrad shook his head lightly as Tilly slowly started to calm her body. "She's having a panic attack, she will be okay."
End Tw
Tilly slowly sat up as she sighed deeply, relishing in the feeling of oxygen entering her lungs. The girl looked down in embarrassment after noticing everyone staring. God, this is so embarrassing.
"I'm sorry," Tilly sighed as she looked up again, her eyes focusing in on Taylor.
Taylors brows furrowed as she put her hand on the girls cheek and caressed her cheekbone with her thumb. Tilly practically melted into her touch. "Don't apologize, it's not your fault."
Tilly flushed again but this time not from embarrassment.
Suddenly a noise was heard in the kitchen and Conrad shook his head angrily and stood up, rushing over to speak to his aunt.
Everyone followed after him besides Tilly and Taylor, who were still sitting on the floor.
"Sorry again," Tilly told the girl. She didn't know why she was apologizing, she just had to.
"Baby," as soon as the words fell from Taylor's mouth, Tilly couldn't stop staring at her. "It's not your fault, we should've payed more attention to you."
Tilly nodded her head wordlessly as she stared up at Taylor in wonderment. She really missed the girl and now that she was here with her, she was all she could think about.
