Selina's POV
It's been a couple days since I've last seen Billie. I had to get familiar with the dos and don'ts, her appointment times, addresses, emergency numbers, and other basic procedures.
I start working today; she has an interview in the evening, and I am to escort her. Though she won't be going out until later, I got a call asking me to come in earlier.
I'm not really sure why, but I can't say no.
I've been trying to dismiss my thoughts about Billie. I'm just her bodyguard, I don't want to think of her any other way than just my boss.
...
Once I get to the front counter, the lady working there tells me that Billie wanted to see me.
I arrive at Billie's dressing room.
Knock Knock
"Hello? It's Selina."
"Come in!"
I open the door and see Billie talking to a couple of other people. "Hello Selina!" She says with a soft smile.
Cute... Wait no, I said I wouldn't think of her that way.
"Hello."
We share a few seconds of prolonged eye contact before she snaps out of it and says, "Oh, these are some of the other security guards. I figured you should get to know them a bit before you start working with them."
Billie tells me their names which are David, Joe, and Nick.
"In each arena, there's a separate room specifically for security; they'll show you around."
"Nice to meet you too." I say, as we three start to walk out, but as I'm about to leave...
"Selina?"
I turn around to face her, not knowing she was that close behind me. I can smell her sweet perfume. Her eyes, that are oh so close to mine, staring at me through her bangs, and her lips are glossy.
I hope she didn't just see me look at her lips.
But to my surprise, her eyes drift down to mine too.
Suddenly, she looks back up and puts more distance between us.
Weird
"I was wondering if you'd like to do something after my interview."
"Oh, what is it you need?" I reply dryly.
She starts to giggle and says, "No, no, not like that. I meant to just hang around."
"...Hang around?"
"I know it might seem foreign to you, but I like to get to know my security team. I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable, especially when you'll be traveling with us."
"I understand; I'm just used to there being a line." I point out.
"A line?"
"Yes, often with other celebrities, I'm not supposed to cross the line with their personal life."
"Wow, who hired you? They sound fun." She questions while laughing. "Well, loosen up I'm not going to fire you if this 'line' is crossed." Billie teases while putting her hands on top of my shoulders.
"We'll see about that," I say while smirking.
...
I spent the last 30 minutes with the other security members, and get familiar with the rest of the staff.
It's time for Billie to leave for her interview. She's wearing baggy jeans with an oversized sweater and a hat on top.
Only me, the driver, and Billie are in the car. Once we arrive, I escort Billie inside.
This is the one thing I hate about this job.
Waiting.
Thankfully, I was allowed in the room so I could watch Billie answer questions. I love how much she over explains her answers.
Nope, I should distract myself.
I pull out my phone until Billie is finally done. I escort Billie back to the car but instead of sitting in the passenger seat, she signals for me to sit by her.
I look at her with slight confusion.
"My car is back at the Arena; once we get there, would you like to drive around with me?"
"Only if I get to drive it."
"Ok, never mind, you can't come."
"I'm kidding! Let me come."
"So you do want to hang out with me?"
"I never said I didn't."
"I just feel like I'm pushing it; if you don't want to, you don't have to." She says while avoiding eye contact.
I couldn't help but to laugh at her awkwardness.
"What's so funny?" She says, while hiding her smile.
"Nothing, you're not pushing anything."
—
We arrive back at the Arena, by this time, it's 8:40 pm.
"Before we leave, I just need to get a few bags inside."
"I'll help you." I add.
We walk inside and into her dressing room.
We're alone once again.
When I'm about to pick up her bags, she grabs my other hand and holds it to her eyes.
"Sorry, I just wanted to see your tattos up close, I want more but I'm not sure what to get next."
"Oh, you have tattoos?" I reply in an excited shock.
"Yeah, I got one on my back not to long ago. Want to see?
"Sure."
She turns around and suddenly lifts her shirt slightly to reveal the large tattoo on her spine.
At this point, my heart is at a rapid pace, and without thinking, I reach out to touch down her spine. I can feel her body relax under my touch.
Then she turns around to face me, her eyes shift to my eyes and lips.
I grab her by the waist and slowly lean in to kiss her, but before our lips attach.... there's a knock on the door.
"Miss Eilish?"
"Yes?!" She shouts while brushing by me to open the door.
"Just informing you that we're about to lock up soon."
"Ok, thanks, David."
Then she turns around to face me and runs her hands through her hair. "Sorry, we shouldn't have done that."
"So there is a line?"
"No, it's not that; it's just- I'm seeing someone else."
"Oh."
