Chapter 7

"Legacy's POV"

Two weeks have passed since word of Myra's mate, Legacy's, parents disappeared. I sent my best trackers as well to help them search. Yuuki has put our wedding planning on hold until Legacy's parents are found.

I walk into the nursery were Sigma and Rukia are napping with their cousin, Wynter. I walk over to the rocking chair where Yuuki is sitting, holding Sigma and lean down and kiss both my girls. Then I walk over to the bassinet that holds Rukia and pick him up carefully so as not to wake him and walk over to the second rocking chair in the room and sit down and begin to rock him slowly. I look over at my mate and notice that she looks very tired. The twins are out of the stage where they wake up every few hours to cry. All this business with Myra's mate's parents is taking its toll on her. I get up and put Rukia back in his bassinet and walk over and take Sigma from Yuuki and place her in her bassinet. I walk over to my mate and pull her out of her chair and take her to her chambers. Once inside, I put her to bed. "Yuuki, you are exhausted. You need to rest. I have my trackers and Myra and Titan's trackers working around the clock and your vampires working during the night. We'll find them but for now, you need to rest. I'll watch the babies while you sleep. I have some duties for my country that I have to do but I can watch the babies when I get back. Ameila can watch them for a bit too. For now, get some sleep." I kiss her forehead and tuck her in then after she falls asleep, I walk to the study that I use when I'm here for my country's business. The duke is already waiting for me when I arrive. "Duke, it is good to see you again. What can I help you with today?" I say as I sit behind my desk and take out the papers that I need to take care of. " Your Majesty, it has come to the attention of the court that you have been spending a lot time away from the kingdom here in the Capital. You need to spend time in your kingdom with your people. The court also feels that it is time for you to find a husband and give us a king. The high ranking nobility have selected a few candidates for your hand in marriage. One has alright asked for your hand in marriage and we have accepted on your behalf, Your Majesty. " What? How dare he presume on my behalf! " Your Grace, as much as I am honored by your effort, there is no need for that. I am already engaged to be married. I shall not marry the man that you have so graciously chosen for me." I say as regally as possible so as to hide my anger. "Your Majesty, it is impossible to back out of this engagement. The prince shall arrive here in a few hours." What? Come again? He's coming here to my mate's castle? Oh no, that shall simply not d---- Wait, if he comes here, then I can show him that I have a mate and that I am engaged to her. " Very well, Your Grace. I shall meet with him but only because you have so kindly asked him to come here." I thank the duke once more before her departs. I return to my work outraged at the nerve of my cousin the duke. I shall bring a swift end to this presumed engagement as quickly as possible.

Several Hours Later...

The prince that the duke mentioned to me has arrived and I depart to my chambers to dress in my official receiving robes. It is a long flowing blue satin gown with a high neckline and long flowing sleeves like on a kimono and a long organza overlay train that is in a navy blue to match the rest of my gown. There is an inset in the skirt that is a light sky blue that matches the inset in the bodice. After I don my gown, I make my way to the throne room, where, to my surprise is Yuuki speaking to the prince. My presence is announced by the herald and I make my way to the throne. I sit next to my mate and the speak. "Welcome, Prince Akiko, it is an honor to finally meet the prince the Duke has told me so much about." Prince Akiko steps forward and bows deeply before me and my mate, not that he would now that Yuuki is my mate though. "The honor is mine, Queen Legacy. The Duke has told me much of you and your beauty and I can see he was not lying. Of course, that is not the reason for which I have come. The Duke and nobility in your country have selected me as your husband. I have come to formally ask for your hand in marriage and then we will be married on the next full moon and then....." I raise my hand to stop him. "I am very sorry to make you come all the way out here, Prince Akiko, however, I have already found my mate and I am engaged to them." The look on the Prince's face is so precious. Not surprising seeing how is not even my country knows that I am mated to Yuuki. And here it comes. "And to whom are you engaged and mated to, Your Majesty?" I open my mouth to tell him when Yuuki stands and walks down to the Prince and smacks him right across the face. "How dare you presume to take my mate from me. I don't know what presumption you are under, cousin, but Queen Legacy is mated to me and we are engaged. Here is my engagement ring from Legacy." I am shocked as to what Yuuki has done. I am not given time to process what is going on before Yuuki walks over to me and gives me a long passionate kiss on the lips which I return with as much passionate as I can muster.The prince leaves shocked and in pain from that hard slap Yuuki gave him. I was with Yuuki back to her chambers as I can tell she didn't get much sleep before Prince Akiko arrived. "I didn't know that you were related to Prince Akiko, Yuuki." Yuuki sighs and responds, "Yes, unfortunately. That guy is the biggest womanizer alive and I can't stand him. He even tried to ask for Ameila's hand in marriage. This wouldn't be the first time he has asked for a member of the Soma Family to marry him. My twin brother, Akito, is in love with him and tried to ask him out once but Akiko just punched him in the face and left him there. I chewed Akiko out and beat him up big time for that. Akito hasn't tried since then even though he was dead for almost three years. I've been trying everything I can think of to get those two together. I'm at my wits end with Akiko. Anyway, I'll think of something. " With that, I put Yuuki back to bed at told her that I would bring her dinner when it was ready. I kissed her on her lips gently and then left to go back to my study. I am going to have to tell the court of my kingdom about Yuuki now. Those stupid nobles don't know when to stay out of people's business. I shall have to make sure they don't meddle again. Oh well, enough of that. I walk to the nursery to relieve Ameila so she can rest from nursing Wynter and babysitting the twins. I give Ameila a kiss on the cheek and then sit down with Sigma in the rocking chair and rock her slowly as she begins to fall back to sleep.

~~~A/N~~~ Hey everyone, what do you think? I think this one turned out a little better than the last one and I even put in a little drama. That was fun. Anyway, as I was writing this, I came up with a idea for another book. It'll be a boyxboy one on Yuuki's older twin brother, Akito and the womanizing jerk, Prince Akiko. Akiko is actually not so bad when you get to know him. There is a secret behind why he's such a womanizer. But I don't what to spoil too much. I should have the summary and the prologue up by the end of the day at the latest. Anyway, enjoy and vote ,comment or whatever.~~~~~
