Chapter 4

"Yuuki's POV"

Today is my mate's coronation and also the death anniversary of my past mate, Hitomi. When I told Legacy why I was ignoring her and that I needed time to let go of Hitomi, I saw nothing. I couldn't read her eyes. She left for a long time and when she came back, her eyes were filled with a deep and intense pain. She said nothing to me. She simply dressed for bed and went to sleep. She was up before I was and I awoke to an empty bed. The emptiness was something I should be used to,however, after meeting Legacy, I could no longer take it. I walked to the portrait room and went inside. I walked to my mother's portrait and see that a candle that had never been lit before was lit. Then it hit me. Legacy had visited this room. I walk to the portrait of Hitomi, my deceased mate. She was so beautiful yet now, I saw only one person as the most beautiful of all. Legacy. I love Legacy. I only met her yesterday yet I love her so much. I light a candle under her picture and then I begin to speak. " Hi Hitomi. It's been a year since you passed away. I came to tell you something. I met my mate yesterday. Tsukiyomi has given me a second-chance at happiness. I loved you so much and I know you loved me the same. The three years that you were with me on this earth were the happiest years of my life but now it is time for me to let you go. I love Legacy. I love her with my whole heart. You are my past, Hitomi. Legacy is my future. I can't stay in the past anymore. I've grieved for you long enough. It's time for me to let you go and move on. Our time is done. Our time is passed. Take good care of Ameila for me, ok? Be happy in your next life. Goodbye, Hitomi." and with that, I bow my head and pray to Tsukiyomi, to thank him for giving me a second chance at happiness and to thank him for all the good times I had with Hitomi and to bring her happiness in her next life. I get up and walk out of the room and to the throne room where the coronation is to take place. I look over the preparations and approve of them. Velenis arrives with his pack for the handing over of the Alpha title. That will take place outside and then the coronation will take place here in the throne room. I walk over to Velenis and his pack. "Velenis, it is good to see you again." I say and hug him and give him a kiss on the cheek. I look at his pack members and say, "Today begins a new chapter in you book of life. The age old ceremony of passing on the Alpha title is an honorable one. Your Alpha has raised his hair well. She will rule you all with kindness and strength. Step forward future beta and third-in-command." Two men step forward and kneel before me. "Today, you take your fathers' places as the Beta and the Third-in-Command. I ask that you perform your duties well and to always support your Alpha." they nod in agreement and stand and returned to where to their fathers. "Come, it is time for the Alpha coronation." I say as I walk to the courtyard where the ceremony would take place. Everyone takes their places and I take mine on the stage. Legacy enters wearing a beautiful silver dress to match her eyes and a cape of silver to also match her dress. Both were woven out of moonbeams and I wore my cloak of silver woven out of moonbeams as well.Her long, beautiful silver hair tied into a braid down her back. Legacy steps onto the stage with grace and poise that would be expected of a princess. She walks to her father and stand in front of him. Velenis begins to speak. " Legacy, do you accept all the power and responsibility of the Alpha title and swear to protect your pack no matter what the cost?" "I do so swear" was Legacy's immediate rely. The wind blows wildly and lifts Legacy off the ground and into the sky, where there is a bright light then she is set back on the stage. "Dark Moon Pack, I give you your new Alpha!!!" I say loudly. The pack cheers and howls in response. I smile at Legacy who simply ignores me. It hurts but she would soon change her tune. Legacy walks off the stage with me, her beth and third-in-command, her father and his beta and third-in-command flanking her. We make our way to the throne room where the coronation would take place. I take lead and escort her into the throne room. As we reach the doors, I stop Legacy and say, "I have something to tell you but it will have to wait till after the coronation." "Very well but I already know what you are going to say" she says in reply and then remains silent. I simply nod and open the doors. The herald says, "Presenting, Her Royal Majesty, Queen Yuuki Nehelenia Atthena and Her Royal Highness, Princess Legacy Celera Mage!" with that, we walk into the throne room as everyone bows to us as we pass. I lead Legacy to the throne that is set in the middle of the room and then walk to my own throne which is set at the very first on the raised part of the floor where is always is. I motion to everyone telling them to sit. " Today we celebrate a very joyous occasion. The daughter of King Velenis is to inherit the throne from her father. I have given my approval for this to happen. It has been 10 years since Valencia last had a queen and now they have once. I, Yuuki Nehelenia Atthena, hereby ask if there is anyone that has any objections as to why this young woman should not be crowned queen, as is her birthright, of the kingdom of Valencia?" The silence was deafening. " Very well then, Legacy Celera Mage, please step forward." Legacy gets up from the throne and walks to the place where I am. " Legacy Celera Mage, you stand before me and all gathered her to take your place as queen of Valencia. Is this your wish as well?" I ask. "It is." Legacy replies immediately. " Very well, then we shall begin. Do you so solemnly to protect your people for danger?" "I do" "Will you forsake your own needs for the sake of your people's needs?" "I do" "Do you solemnly swear to rule with kindness, compassion, faithfulness, justice, and liberty?" "I do" "Do you solemnly swear to never harm an innocent without just cause?" " I do" "Do you solemnly swear to protect those who cannot protect themselves?" " I do" "Do you solemnly swear to keep these vows that you have made before the Gods and those gathered here?" " I do" "Kneel, please" I say as Legacy kneels on the cushion that is in front of her. I walk of to the page holding the Valencian Crown on a silver velvet cushion and pick it up gently, then walk back to Legacy's kneeling form. "I, Yuuki Nehelenia Atthena, High Queen of Alessian and Empress of the Alessian Royal Empire, hereby crown you, Legacy Celera Mage, Queen of Valencia." I say as I place the crown on Legacy's head. "Rise and face those gathered" I say and Legacy faces the people. "I give you Queen Legacy Celera Mage, Queen of Valencia!!" Everyone claps and cheers as her pack howls and cheers. I look over at Legacy and see her beaming at the crowd. My heart soars with love at seeing such a beautiful sight. I hold my hand out to palm down, as is the tradition, and we walk down the aisle of the throne room into a private room off of the throne room. Legacy takes off her crown and places it on the velvet cushion and places a tiara on her head. Queen never wear the crown they wore at their coronation for public events. We always were a tiara. We only wear the crown on special royal occasions where it is warranted. I walk over to the love seat in the room and sit down after putting my own crown away and putting on my tiara. "Legacy, come here. I want to talk to you." Legacy obeys as she comes to sit on the loveseat with me. " Legacy, I did a lot of thinking yesterday. I realized that I have only been hurting you since we first met and that isn't right. I went to the Portrait room this morning and visited Hitomi. I talked to her about everything. I have decided that is within our best interests to..." " Stop, Yuuki, I already know what you are going to say. I saw Hitomi's picture. There is no way you could love someone like me compared to her. Just reject me already and get it over with. I already know that you don't and can't love me." "Let me finish, please, Legacy. What I was going to say was that it is within our best interests for me to let her go. And I have. I realized something last night, Legacy. Can you guess what it was?" " What was it?" she says, emotionlessly. " I love you, Legacy." She looks at me with her beautiful silver eyes that look like full moons. "What did you just say, Yuuki?" "I said I'm in love with you. I fell in love with you the moment I looked into those beautiful silver full moon eyes of yours. I loved Hitomi, very much but she's gone now and has been for a year now. Our time is over now. Hitomi is my past. You, Legacy," I take her face in my hands. "Are my future. " I finish and then I lean down and plant a kiss on her beautiful red lips. Legacy kisses me back with a passion that I thought I would never feel again. My inner vampire is screaming at to mark and mate her but we still have to go to the reception after the coronation and Legacy still has to go on her pack run. I break the kiss and look at her with as much love and lust as I could but into my eyes. I saw the same reflected back at me. "Soon, my love, soon." I say and then Legacy kissed me again.
