Prakriti's heart raced as she stood before her dad, desperately pleading for his permission to go on the college trip. She knew it wouldn't be an easy task, as her dad was known for being sweet yet strict. With determination in her eyes, she began her persuasive argument.

"Dad, please, you have to let me go on this trip," Prakriti implored, her voice filled with a mix of hope and urgency. "I promise I'll study really hard for the next term and make you so proud. I'll bring home amazing grades, I swear!"

Her dad sighed, his expression reflecting his concern. "Prakriti, you know how clumsy and careless you can be sometimes. What if something goes wrong? What if you fall ill or get into trouble? I can't bear the thought of you being alone and vulnerable."

But Prakriti was prepared. She took a deep breath and mustered up her courage. "Dad, I already spoke to Mom about it, and she agreed. She understands how important this trip is to me. Besides, it's not like I'll be alone. The principal and professors will be there, ensuring our safety. And my friends Priya, Dev, and Prashant are coming too. We'll all look out for each other."

As Prakriti's words hung in the air, she noticed a flicker of hesitation in her dad's eyes. She knew she had to seize this opportunity. With a subtle quiver in her voice, she added, "Please, Dad, let me go. This trip means the world to me. I promise to be responsible and make unforgettable memories. Don't you want me to have amazing experiences that I'll cherish for a lifetime?"

Her dad's stern expression softened, and a glimmer of understanding appeared in his eyes. Prakriti's heart skipped a beat as she saw her dad's resolve slowly crumbling. She knew she had touched a chord within him.

After a brief pause, her dad let out a sigh and finally spoke, "Alright, Prakriti. If your mom is on board with this and you promise to be responsible, I'll consider letting you go. But remember, your safety and well-being are my utmost priority. Take care of yourself and make the most of this opportunity."

Prakriti's face lit up with joy as she embraced her dad tightly. "Thank you, Dad!

As the night grew darker, Prakriti's house was filled with laughter and joy. The whole family, including Priya, gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories and relishing a delicious meal. The aroma of spices and the sound of clinking utensils filled the air, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.

After dinner, Prakriti and Priya, with their sleeves rolled up, joined Prakriti's mother in the kitchen. They chatted and giggled while helping with the dishes, their hands dancing in soapy water. The sound of their laughter echoed through the house, a testament to their strong bond and friendship.

With the kitchen sparkling clean and the chores completed, Priya decided to call her own parents. She wanted to share the exciting news about the upcoming trip and seek their permission. As she spoke to her parents, her voice filled with enthusiasm and excitement, they too gave their blessing, understanding the importance of this journey for their daughter.

As the night grew deeper, the family bid each other goodnight and retreated to their respective dreamlands. However, fate had a different plan for Prakriti. In the middle of the night, she woke up with a parched throat. Realizing that her water bottle was empty, she quietly made her way downstairs to the kitchen.

The kitchen was shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by the moon's gentle glow. Prakriti's heart skipped a beat as she noticed a figure moving about, their silhouette dancing in the dim light. Fear gripped her as she assumed it was an intruder, someone who had trespassed into her sanctuary.

Reacting swiftly, Prakriti's instincts kicked in. She grabbed a nearby bat, her hands trembling with adrenaline. With every step she took, her determination grew, ready to defend her loved ones and her home. But as she approached the figure, her eyes widened in surprise and relief. It was none other than her best friend, Priya.

The room remained still for a moment as Prakriti's mind processed the unexpected sight. She lowered the bat, her tense muscles relaxing. A mix of emotions flooded her heart, relief washing over her like a gentle wave.

"Priya, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?" Prakriti asked, her voice a mixture of concern and curiosity.

Priya: As I was feeling hungry, I went to the kitchen and then I got a notification on my phone from Dev. So, I texted him back and he mentioned that he was getting bored. We ended up having a phone call where we discussed the upcoming trip. But then, surprise! I saw you there with a bat in your hand. I got scared, thinking you were a thief or something!

Prakriti: Oh, my bad! I thought you were an intruder, so I grabbed the bat to defend myself. I'm sorry for the scare! 😅

Priya: Haha, no worries! By the way, Dev and Prashant's parents have also agreed to join us on the trip. It's going to be so much fun! I can't wait to play some pranks on our professors. We'll have a blast! Oh, and why are you in the kitchen at this time? Want to join me in making noodles? We can plan more for the trip and have a nice chat while cooking. You know how I love to blabber! 😄

Prakriti: Oh, Priya, you always have so much to say! Yes, let's have a great time on the trip. I'm craving noodles too, and I came to get some water. Let's make them together and enjoy our little cooking session. We can talk about our plans and catch up on all the gossip from college.

Author's POV: After devouring their delicious noodles and tidying up the kitchen, Priya and Prakriti continued their lively conversation about the upcoming trip and shared stories about their college friends. Eventually, they bid each other goodnight and drifted off to dreamland, excited for the adventures that awaited them.
