Chasing Dreams- discontinued

Chapter 3

I entered potions class hoping that I'd see someone I knew. I glanced over the room to see a red haired girl -it was Ginny Weasley ,sister of Ron Weasley ,who was friends with Harry Potter the boy who lived. She was a really friendly girl ,in the same year as me ,so I sat down next to her.

"Hi Avery! I haven't seen you in ages ,how are you?" She said
I replied "I'm good thank you ,how was your summer?"
"It was great thanks"

Potions went on and soon enough it finished. The bell rang and everyone started to pack up. "See you later ,Ginny"
"Bye" she called after me.

The rest of the day went in a blur, I had herbology, muggle studies and defence against the dark arts. After the school day had finished I headed back to common rooms to get ready for the first quidditch training of our school season. I got changed into my green kit and took myself to the field. I was a few minutes early so I decided to warm up.

I was jogging around the field when I noticed someone else appear in their quidditch kit. It was Thomas. He started towards me smiling.

"Hey! McLauren! Over here!"

I ran over to him almost losing my footing on the way there "hey Thomas!"
"How are you!?"

We were the only ones standing in the middle of the quidditch field. I'd never really spoken to him properly before, we'd never had a chance to really. We spoke for a while as no one else had turned up yet.
"Haha you're much nicer than I thought before. We should hang out more."

I could feel my cheeks turning red, hoping it wasn't obvious.
I splurted out "yes sure when"
"Uhh tomorrow ,if you want" he replied
"Sure" I could feel myself smiling and I couldn't stop -I liked him loads and I couldn't hide it.

Soon enough the rest of the players arrived and we had a team discussion ,which lasted for about an hour ,before training. We concluded that Draco Malfoy would be the seasons seeker-once again. I was to be the keeper again but I was also allowed to be a chaser from time to time . Thomas would be a chaser as he was last year. Our team captain ,Marcus Flint was also a chaser.

After a 3 hour long training session ,we finished and went back to the changing rooms. On the way there I saw Thomas and Flint .
"Are you up for playing our first match this Saturday ,Avery ?" Flint said
"Of course I am!" I replied
"Alright ,good I'll see you around!"

After I got back into my uniform , I walked back to the common room. I caught up with Thomas ,so we walked together. It was slightly awkward as we didn't say much.

We got back to the common room but most people were in their dormitories now as it was getting late. I sat down in front if the fire, and Thomas did also.
"So tell me about you"
"Urm my names Avery Grace McLaure-"
"I know that!"
" I've been playing quidditch since I was 7??"
"Seriously? I've only been playing since I was 11 haha, that's probably why your so good!"
I responded "don't be ridiculous!"
"I'm not joking"
"Haha yes you are"
"No"

There was an awkward scilence.

I stared into his gorgeous eyes, he smiled back at me and I couldn't help but try and hide my smile back at him.
"You realise it's okay to smile"
I laughed back, trying to hide my rosey cheeks.
We sat in silence for a few minutes ,I was gassing into the green fire.
"Alright I'm going to bed ,I'll see you tomorrow"I said
" yes sure ,I could meet you sometime tomorrow? At 7:00pm- that is -If you're free?.."
"That sounds good.."I replied

I went and got myself a glass of water ,and I walked back to where he was sitting.
"Hey, can I tell you something?"he asked shyly.
"Sure you can."
"Umm never mind it's alright"
"No tell me!"

"Never mind" he insisted. His eyes were wandering around the room.

I started to walk up the stairs.
"Good night, then."
"Umm Avery" he suddenly blurted out."I sorta-well- maybe like you?.."He whispered
I looked back to him and smiled. I never expected him to say that.
"I like you too, Thomas.."
