Starseer sighed. Waiting. As always. The war between the Hybrids and Anti-Hybrids had been going on for years. The Anti-Hybrid side was composed of Seawings, Icewings, some Skywings, Mudwings and Hivewings.

"It's never going to end," Starseer mumbled to herself. Finally, Sandstorm and Prisma arrived.

"Starseer, we need to RUN." Sandstorm yelled and threw themselves to the ground.

"Yeah, because this idiot flew right into a patrol." Prisma rolled her eyes. The three of them began to fly. Starseer looked back and saw a group of dragons chasing them, around 15. We're almost at the base! This isn't good, we're leading them right towards the base. Starseer rammed into Sandstorm to divert them, but Sandstorm just growled and continued flying the other way. Starseer flew towards Prisma, and Prisma got the message.

"SANDSTORM! OTHER WAY!" Prisma yelled, and Sandstorm realized.

"Forget it, I'm fighting this mother-" Sandstorm began, before one of them charged into them. Reacting quickly, Sandstorm shot fire at them. The dragon backed off for a moment, but as soon as the fire was out they charged back at them. Starseer was fighting a dragon, a seawing. Starseer spun some silk, and flipped over so the silk was around their neck. Starseer began choking the dragon, but a large Leafwing rammed into her just before she was able to kill the dragon. Prisma was fighting a Hivewing, but she was struggling. She used her fire to try to distract the dragon, but the Hivewings just flew out of the way and raised their tail stinger. Prisma quickly threw her wings into the Hivewing's face, and then bit their tail.

"Ow!" She heard the dragon yell. The Leafwing quickly changed focus from Starseer to Prisma and flew over. Being quicker, Prisma easily dodged the dragon. Starseer was able to use her silk to choke the Seawing she was fighting, now that the Leafwing was gone. Sandstorm plunged their tail stinger into the dragon, who fell out of the sky, and was clearly dead. A Nightwing charged at Sandstorm, so they tried to cast a spell. They froze time for a second, but it quickly unfroze, and being distracted, the Nightwing hit them. Sandstorm began falling, but Prisma quickly flew over and caught them. Once Sandstorm was able to fly again, they flew right at the dragon. Being more prepared now, they grabbed a dagger from one of their bags and stabbed into the Nightwing and killed them. Prisma was fighting the Leafwing. The Leafwing threw something at her, a seed, and tried to use Leafspeak. But in doing so, they were distracted, so Prisma grabbed her necklace and stabbed it into the dragon. The Leafwing let out a scream, before flying away and yelling something to the other dragons, who flew away. The three of them landed. Out of breath, they say for a while before Sandstorm said something.

"Hell yeah!" Sandstorm yelled. Prisma was helping Starseer put bandages on and she stopped for a second to look at Sandstorm. "

Shut up, patrols are still out." Prisma said, not in a rude way, but in a playful way that also said 'we're gonna die because of you, aren't we?' Starseer rolled her eyes as Prisma finished helping her. Prisma walked over to Sandstorm, who was sitting angrily, and began helping her.

"You remind me of Wisteria." Prisma mumbled.

"Oh- right, I'm sorry about her." Sandstorm looked guilty, and Prisma just looked... plain.

"What happened?" Starseer asked. Starseer had joined later, after Wisteria's death.

"Well, one day I was out hunting with Sandstorm and Wisteria." Prisma began. "And we encountered a patrol- there were only four dragons, and we figured we could take them on. We couldn't." Prisma sighed, and tears began to fall down her face. Sandstorm looked away.

"I can do this myself." Sandstorm growled and pushed Prisma away. Prisma walked away and sat down. A small fire was lit around where they were sitting.

"We should go back." Starseer suggested. Prisma nodded and Starseer put the fire out. They begin flying back, with Sandstorm flying ahead, and Starseer flying behind them. Soon, they arrived at the base.

"ID?" The dragon at the gate asked. That was Viper, a Sandwing Nightwing hybrid. He and Sandstorm were like siblings, even though Sandstorm was always rude to him.

"You know who we are, stop." Sandstorm growled and handed him their identification. Prisma and Starseer did the same, and after a minute, Viper handed them back.

"You may enter," Viper growled, and gave Sandstorm a glare.

"Good." Sandstorm rolled their eyes as they entered.

THE BASE-

The three of them went straight to Altai, a Nightwing skywing Mudwing hybrid, who was also the leader on the Hybrid side.

"I've been waiting for you three. Where have you been?" He asked. Altai was a large dragon, he was strong and able to easily fight off dragons. The three of them were the opposite- a mess, unable to really fight or work together. Alpine was sitting next to him, looking very shaken.

"We got into a fight," Starseer explained what happened. "Well, what are the reports?" He asked.

"Queen Azure is still trying to push for more land in order for the alliance. The seawing connection is weak." Sandstorm informed.

"Good. Alpine, take them to the library and jot down any information we have so far." Altai requests. Alpine stood up and led them to the library. He grabbed a scroll and some ink- he looked extremely shaken, which was not normal for him.

"Is something wrong?" Starseer asked. Alpine flicked his tail and just in general looked uncomfortable.

"Python joined the other side, more and more hybrids are dying, and we're losing the war."
